Life Grand Cafe has become one of our firm favorite places to dine in Cape Town. Whether this be for lunch or dinner, or whether it be a beautiful sunny day or cold and cloudy. The restaurant can lend itself to a cosy feel with heaters and blankets, or one of open verandahs with refreshing sea breezes. It is advisable to book, as they are quite popular with locals and tourists. We've been three times recently, and on each occasion we were exceptionally pleased with the food quality, the service and atmosphere. Whether it be a fish, meat, burger or chicken option, we could not say which was a better dish! Their cocktails are also . On the three occasions we were served by Frank if I remember correctly. He was an incredible waiter who really elevated our dining experience each time. He had a great sense of humor and excellent customer service! One thing to keep in mind: this is Life Grand Cafe, and not The Grand which sits just outside the Waterfront. Parking: Plenty parking in the various garages in the V&A Waterfront
The best thing about this place for me is the location and the interior decor . The ambience can go either way-Different strokes for different folks I went there for lunch on a sunny Friday afternoon, the terrace was packed and the service was okay but the food was underwhelmingor maybe my choices were Had one of the gourmet loaves and that was a complete miss, wouldn’t recommend. The grilled beef fillet was really good though . The dessert Death By Chocolate was sweet and nice-edible. So yay for the vibe and nay for the food. I was disappointed when my wine glass came dripping water and looked dirty, but I guess given that it was so full I understand Definitely a great place for chilling and drinking.
Variety and presentation of dishes was remarkable. If you love eating with your eyes and enjoy scenic setting Life Grand Cafe is a must. We enjoyed lunch with our daughters on Sunday
Bellai was blown away when i walked in Life Grand Cafe,the decor etc beautiful from the entrance to the seating area and the toilets Wow. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and the Manager Brandon gave us excellent serviceThe food was the best! Bravo to the Chef! I simply loved the tuna ceviche, the prawns ,Fire pit platter and oh so choc dessert, everything! I highly recommend this restaurant Thank you for the lovely experience xxx
Other than obnoxiously loud music and very slow service it was great. The food was good with a decent variety to choose from, curry, seafood, steaks and even sushi. Our table tried all of the items and there were no complaints. Everyone was happy with the quanity and quality of the food. The outside seating is very nice.
It's a very busy restaurant. Mike our waiter was very responsive and his service was quick, despite how busy he was. The drinks are not worth their money but the food was deliciousFood: 4/5
Most terrible place to be in terms of service. Landed in Capetown and decided to have dinner with my sisters. First waiter that welcomed up asked “if we want to join a table with some men that are willing to spend money on us”, we didn’t entertain that. Then next waiter told us to go find our own seat and he’ll come back to take our orders, which he never did. All the tables were filthy with dishes everywhere. Managed to seat ourselves down then the next waiter told us we should go sit elsewhere cause the table was booked for someone else. We went and sat by the bar and waited to be help literally by the 4th person until he came like 10 minutes later. Took our orders while screaming at us by the bar. He never came to our table to welcome us and formally take our orders. Most TERRIBLE service I’ve ever experienced! I do not recommend this place! They deserve 0 stars! So disappointing!
They serve delicious food. the service was great. You can choose to sit indoors or outside under umbrellas. There is an amazing view of the sea with boats. It’s usually full and there is often a long queue for the toilets which is irritating.
The food was amazing! Great wine and cocktail selection the Great music adds to the awesome vibe we’ll definitely come back my husband enjoyed his birthday only thing I would say is service was a bit slow I would suggest having more servers also if you could just have someone on rotation to wipe tables in between customers other than that great atmosphere
Life Grand Cafe, Cape Town We loved the sea food at the cafe. Delicious … fresh from the ocean. The servings were generous … and flavours wonderful. Cheerful staff … and quick service.
