Rhubee's was started by a few health conscious friends who believed that sucrose was detrimental to their well-being.
Having searched the market for sucrose free products, we found that there was very little on offer, especially when it came to chocolate
Being chocolate lovers, we eventually found a source of sucrose free Belgian chocolate, which we found to be really delicious. From there, we started to experiment with different fillings which we created ourselves, using agave sugar as a sweetener.
And so the Rhubee’s chocolate bars were born, available in both dark and milk chocolate. Over time, the most popular bars have proved to be the ones we currently hand make - plain, slivered almond, mint infused, hazelnut praline and caramel.
Although we are not qualified to claim that our bars are suitable for diabetics, as they are completely free from any form of sucrose, we refer to them as “Diabetic friendly”.
Since we began in 2009, there has been much research worldwide into the effects of sugar on the body. This has shown, especially in the Western world, where sugar consumption per capita is extremely high, that many diseases are directly related to a diet high in sucrose, especially in the form of cane sugar. We have seen a significant growth in the sales of our chocolates, as people have gradually become more aware of the dangers of sugar.
We find that once a customer has tasted our products, they are converted and return again and again! Our chocolate is quite unique in the market place and superior in both taste and quality. We have found no other sucrose free chocolate to be quite as delicious as Rhubee’s!
Even after so many years, we still love our chocolate and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
