River of Joy guest lodge

Great getaway for yourself or with friends and family. Braai facilities, river access for fishing, canoeing or swimming. Rooms: Clean, spacious and fitted with AC, electric blankets and comfortable beds. Safety: Very safe and secluded.

Where do I even start .. easy to reach from the main road, amazing service. Great views and peaceful surroundings. Clean and neat. This place will definitely see me again.

The camping site is well maintained; Clean and peaceful. The nature surrounding is beautiful and the kid's play area keeps the kid's busy for some time. The river is filled with fish carbs and many MORE! Great little place in the middle of no where. ; great experience ! There was no swings for the children, their is no directions to little shop on premise. We will return again in future without & doubt!

Functional camp site, there is great grass and nice shade which is a win. The ablution blocks are tired and worn.

Convenient overnight stop off N1, 25 km north of Bloemfontein. Truck noise abates by about 10pm. Friendly owners, basic facilities but does need some TLC and a good tidyup and some upgrade. Camp sights neat with easy access. After all the comments , the rate is very reasonsble.

We had a Great one night overlay. Travelling to joburg. Nice people and good showers: beautiful place with nice camp spots close to the river.

A very pretty setting and lovely dogs! Sadly the accommodation right by the gate needs some serious help. It’s incredibly allergic and has some nasty mould in the bathroom. Bug screens on windows and doors would be handy as many mosquitos appear towards the end of the day. A doormat would also be good as the grass gets incredibly muddy after rain.

Had a pleasant stay at River of Joy. Unfortunately, we were unable to stay longer to enjoy all they had to offer. They are situated next to a river and have row-boats available to use. They have both camping and comfortable and very clean accommodations. One can also order breakfast upon reservation. River of Joy is conveniently situated right of the N1. Be sure to take the off-ramp right before the map marker as Google Maps didn’t instruct me to do so.

Beautiful peaceful place. Needs a few caring touches and details. The accessibility from the freeway and the river and green space is the real drawcard for this lovely spot. Ideal for campers, caravans and tents. Friendly and accommodating hosts

Very clean and neat and well run. Very safe and secure,great for kiddies and extremely well located just off the N1 freeway. Beautiful gardens and green lawns,plenty of shade and located next to the Modder River.Fantastic bird life too.
