Although a vast ocean separates us, and our cultures are quite different, we do share many core values, namely the love and respect of democracy, freedom, our own surroundings and environment, along with the respect for human rights and the value of the family. Thailand is known worldwide as the “Land of Smiles,” for our friendliness and hospitality, and I believe that this description can also be applied to this Rainbow Nation of South Africa.
