Best service ever sorted me out and had a good deal
They will give you value for money. Highly recommended.
You can get a great deal, but you will generally get what you pay for. Sometimes that's a great set of tires with little wear for a much better price than new. And sometimes it's worn tires for a lower price. Before driving through, ask for photos of the tires. They will obviously tell you there is a higher percentage tread left than what there probably is. Also be aware that if they have the right size for your car, they probably won't tell you the brand like I was told they have 75% Continental, but what I received was 60% Dunlop. Good enough, but not what I was promised. In hindsight if I knew how worn the tires in-stock are, I would have asked them to contact me once they receive better stock if not in a rush to replace. When you get there, take a look at the tires yourself and check the wear! One of the tires they offered me was already warn unevenly and probably beyond what is legal for the road. Look outside and inside, and check how old they are. Look for holes or repairs. Be aware that if they CAN get rid of an older set rather than give you the better ones they have in stock which would be easier to sell, they will try to give you those. After the tires are installed, make sure the pressure is correct for your car. In my case the one tire was harder than it should be and my sensor went off saying the other is too low. Check you have valve caps back on too. Remember you can always ask them to put the better tyres in front for front wheel drive and move the old ones to the back. In general, the mechanics are friendly and helpful. Tip them if you happy with their service. I received help from Christmas. Note that the guys on the cell phones Shaba is who you will probably WhatsApp with likely are not going to be there or talk to you. Take photos and be smart. But I've been there twice now and it's the best deal around.
If you value your and your families safety on the roads don't buy tyres from these people. Replaced all 4 tyres cost me R2800.00. 10 minutes after leaving their shop 2 of the tyres developed huge bubbles on the side walls. Super dangerous to drive like this. Phoned Faizel and he sounded like he could care less. Don't even waste your time trying to get your money back. Rather spend that extra bit of money and get new tyres from a reputable dealer. These businesses should be illegal.
I bought a "set" of tyres, got home 150km and one tyre is wrong size. They said come back we'll swap that tyre. Two months later and a few visits and no tyre to swap. Took all the tyres back, they took my bank details and promised to refund same day, still waiting. Will post again if not paid, then small claims court and much more social media business bashing.
Incredibly bad service indeed, I tried their services as i usually buy new tyres and usually in pairs. Unfortunately i was caught in a situation where i needed a replacement tyre asap and intended on purchasing a new pair in a few weeks. So i made the mistake of purchasing a secondhand tyre from these guys. OMW on the day of fitment the tyre machine operator called his colleague to the machine and i followed as they were busy with my wheel... apparently he had the tyre fitted in the wrong rotation i then told him I’m standing right here and watching what you are up to because it’s my property you working with and i don’t understand why its behind closed doors all very dodge he tried closing the door in my face. Anyways they fitted the tyre all seemed well i didn’t do a close inspection just saw the grease spots on the rim that they tried to clean. I thought nothing of it thinking that the issue was resolved...i paid and left went straight home everything seemed fine. The next morning decided to clean the rim tried to remove the grease spots ‘’Scuffs’’ to no avail. Being that close to the tyre i realized that the tyre wall had a few long dry rot cracks. I immediately called... the Youngman was decent and advised me to bring the car in then will have a look, at this point i was just irritated about the tyre being in such a bad state and i took the scuffs as a loss and a learning curve to not let my property out my sight in future. When something feels dodge... ‘’IT’S DODGE’’ upon returning to the shop the owner told me they have no replacement and my original tyre was already discarded which i understood. He then told me to leave my name and number and he will let me know as soon as he receives a replacement. I thought about it and told him id rather not as that would mean id have to drive on that tyre!!! He then got extremely rude and started telling the guys that does the fitment ‘’take it off, take it off...I’ll sell it’’ i was shocked he then proceeded to tell me i shouldn’t buy second-hand tyres in the first place... lol The owner of the ‘’second-hand tyre shop’’ tells me this. He then said buy new then you have peace of mind lol. I then explained my situation and that i intended on buying a NEW pair in the next few weeks. He just kept insulting me compared me to his son that just fitted new 20 inch tyres on his car. I told them to take the rubbish tyre and fit my spare. Left on a spare and a tyreless rim was told to fetch my money later in the day all very abruptly and rude. I went straight to GOODHOPE TYRES and OMW GREAT SERVICE as usual as i usually purchase from them. I then fitted one NEW tyre for not much extra and the guy that helped me still added a further discount. I had explained the whole ordeal i went through and they actually kept the same tyre for me to fit later so i can have my pair NEW as i intended Thanks to GOODHOPE TYRES Wynberg. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SHOP!... I RECEIVED 100% BAD SERVICE. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING
Buying second hand tyres is obviously not the same as buying new ones. That's why it's cheaper. So if you want to save money by going this route then it seems sensible to give the tyres a close inspection first before you buy rather than complain afterwards that they are bad. It's not hard to check for wear / cracks / punctures and other damage. And all tyres have the month and year of manufacture stamped on the side if you look closely. If you don't know what to look for then you are better off not getting 2nd hand. Anyway I got 2 decent quality brand used tyres from these guys with 90% tread for 25% of the cost of new ones. The guys doing the fitting and balancing on brand new equipment knew what they were doing and did a good job. When I have the money I'll get some new ones but for the time being this was a better plan than sticking with the old 5% tread worn ones I had on the car.
Took my wife's SUV in for x4 tyres. Good service, friendly staff. Obviously there are risks with used tyres and the shop cannot be held accountable, also, if your car has suspension issues you cant blame the tyre. There was an issue with 1 of the 4 tyres but they willingly helped me. All sorted now.
Had a tyre blowout on my way to Cape Town and fortunately made it there.I phoned around and received their contact details.Took a drive there, the place is quite busy and the staff amazing.Got my tyre replaced, fitted and was on my way.Awesome service
These guys are the best for price and service great value for money. Needed Tyres desperately for my car didn’t have the cash for new Tyres they had great deal on second hand tyres with good thread just as advertised. Driving for over a month with the set they sold me no problems. I count my self lucky to to have done business with them will recommend them to anyone
