I’m a regular customer that stops at this service station 5/7 days of the week. The coffee and baked goods used to be the best around. Always looked forward to seeing the regular staff with all smiles whom made the best coffee. Unfortunately every time I go there nowadays, there’s all these new faces… the cafe mocha now tastes like diluted coffee flavored water. Never the less I still support them hoping that they will soon improve on the service and quality. Even with the Ferrari miniature promo, this is the only shell around that demands the slip regardless of you having the OTP and swiping your V+ card. My v+ card was also blocked during the course of last year for some time, until I picked up the error and made a query. For that I score them a 1star. This may change if service is improved and quality of coffee keeps up with other “deli by shell” branches.
Best service station in Edwin Swales area. Highly professional, honest, and trustworthy people to do business with. The owners are absolutely wonderful and caring people. Doing business with them is a pleasure!
Terrible service!!! I will never order from steers again. I placed my order via the steers app, received an order number and also received a confirmation message, that steers Edwin swales received my order. An hour past, 6 calls to head office who put me through to the shop that didn't answer!!! Absolutely pathetic! The service from steers Edwin swales bluff is disgusting
One of the busiest petrol station in the area, staff are on the ball but sometimes they can not cope
Extremely dangerous that the truck filling station is not completely seperate from ordinary road users. I often get confused on which entrance to take. When trucks are exiting it is a safety hazard. Please seperate entrance and exits for trucks.
This review isn't regarding the Shell, but the Vida E Caffe inside Shell. Copied from the review sent to Vida E. THIS MORNING I EXPERIENCE THE WORST SERVICE AT THE CAFE IN THE SHELL GARAGE ON EDWIN SWALES, BLUFF, DURBAN. FIRSTLY AFTER PLACING MY ORDER I WAS USHERED TO THE TILLS IN THE FRONT OF THE STORE. I HAD TO QUESTION WHY I COULDN'T PAY AT THE CAFE TILL - APPARENTLY THE MACHINE WASN'T WORKING. WHILE IN THE QUEUE I NOTICE MY REQUESTED SANDWICH WAS NOT ON THE SLIP. ON QUESTIONING THIS I WAS TOLD THE CASHIER WOULD KNOW. BUT WHEN HE TALLIED UP, I ASKED HIM IF I HAD BEEN CHARGED FOR THE SANDWICH AND HE LOOKED CONFUSED, SHOUTING ACROSS THE STORE TO THE 'CASHIER' AT VIDA E WHO THEN SHOUTED BACK TO CHARGE FOR THE TOASTIE. BY THE TIME I'D PAID MY CAPPUCCINOS WERE STANDING ON THE COUNTER - WELL I ASSUMED THEY WERE MINE BECAUSE NOBODY SAID ANYTHING AND THE OTHER CUSTOMER SAID THEY WEREN'T HERS. I THEN WENT BACK TO THE SERVER AND ATTEMPTED TO ASK FOR MY TOASTIE. HE WAS IN A HEAVY DISCUSSION ABOUT THE FOOD ON DISPLAY AND I HAD TO RAISE MY VOICE TO GET NOTICED. HE GRABBED THE SANDWICH WHERE THE DISPLAY LABEL SAID "TUNA & CHEDDAR TOASTIES", SHOVED IT IN A PACKET AND WISHED ME A GOOD DAY. HOW *VERY* DISAPPOINTED I WAS AFTER TOASTING IT AT LUNCH TIME AND BITING INTO IT TO DISCOVER IT WAS A VERY POOR EXCUSE FOR CHICKEN MAYO. I THEN FISHED THE PACKET OUT THE BIN TO CHECK THE STICKER AND TRUE AS NUTS, IT SAID 'CHICKEN MAYO'..........I THEN CHECKED MY TILL SLIP AND NOTICED I WAS IN FACT CHARGED FOR 'TUNA & CHEESE' AND EVEN CHARGED AN EXTRA R1.00 AS THE PRICE ON DISPLAY WAS R29 AND MY SLIP STATES R30. IF I HAD RECEIVED WHAT I ASKED FOR, I WOULD NOT BE COMPLAINING, BUT NOT ONLY WAS I LOOKING FORWARD TO TUNA & CHEESE, THE AMOUNT OF CHICKEN MAYO ON THE SANDWICH WAS NOT EVEN WORTH R10.........FEEL FREE TO SEND ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND PHOTOS OF ALL THE LABELS AND SLIPS. UPDATE: I believe Adrian reprimanded the staff and compensated me generously for the inconvenience. Thank you and may your staff learn from this experience.
