Shiluvari Lakeside Lodge

There were four of us in a double rondavel and we were very happy with the accommodation. It was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The tap water is drinkable and there are kettles provided with coffee and tea that is refilled every day. Even late in the evening we were able to eat on the beautiful terrace of the restaurant after our arrival. The staff is very friendly. We got to know all of the staff, even the chef, Foster and the senior chefs. They are all very happy and nice. Breakfast was served every day at our requested time, whether early at 7am or later. It was very tasty and varied with toasted bread or ready-made sandwiches, jam, yoghurt, milk, cheese, muesli and lots of fresh fruit and good coffee, all on the veranda with a panoramic view of the green meadow in front of the lake and the wooded mountains in the background with relaxing silence and nature sounds. We will be back for sure and would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Place is lovely and peaceful with beautiful views of the dam. The food was also nice, had a burger and chips. Needs a little touch up though, and the gravel road leading up to the lodge is bad.Hotel highlightsGreat view, Quiet

Lovely siting next to the dam, depsite the local road conditions, well worth the visit. Walkability: Flat surface with plenty of grass to walk on.

The road leading to the place needs a bit of attention. However, the treatment I received was out of this world. I felt like royalty and the climatic conditions were super with a gentle wind blowing throughout the day. I contemplate revisiting the place in the near future.Service: 4/5

It was a nice quiet place with a refreshing breeze. A very great lake view and other views as well. Picnic and braai areas for groups or just a couple but definitely not for one person. You'll get bored. They sometimes have a DJ playing some great music while you braai or swim. Boat rides through the lake. At an extra cost. Not included in the entrance fee. Overnight accommodation also available. The pool is not that big but since it never gets crowded, it's big enough for people at the lodge.

Allowed me to check in late and said I would check out anytime, only to be forced to check out at 11am . Spent my money for nothing with no breakfast nor any activities. So they basically wanted my money but they have great roomsRooms: 4/5

Nice place but look tired. Super place for a super break away.... if you can give it a huge face lift.

The place is beautiful, natural attraction from the lake and trees however, the road infrastructure needs to be graded to prevent any damages on our cars. What was inconveniencing for me was lack of tv in the room and having to walk to the dining area to watch tv did not work out for me what about in very extreme, unfavorable weather conditions e.g. extreme cold, windy and heavy rainfall and I must go and watch tv at the dining area and there's no shelter on the walkways. Apart from all that, the place was very much pleasant, Maybe your management can use these comments for future improvements. Thank you for the warm hospitality, Regards!!

Its a very nice place, cool with fresh breeze from the dam, the staff is amazing. Its a perfect place if u want to have a quiet time or a peace of mind.
