Siyazakhela is a business development facilitator that aims to transform communities in inclusively innovative ways. We provide business management skills and build self-confidence with entrepreneurs in low-income communities.
Siyazakhela allows entrepreneurs to create their own economic transformation by equipping them with the basic, necessary skills in foundation level business, entrepreneurship and life skills training. In doing so, we open up employment opportunities in South African townships, drive business literacy and contribute towards a thriving township ecosystem.
Together with Unilever, we have looked at the entire informal market ecosystem, from consumer to vendor to big business and have developed an innovative inclusive market model that promises to deliver growth for all stakeholders.
We recognised the need for transformation in areas of South Africa, where economic inequality is ever-present. Radical economic transformation is not an ideological belief, it is a call-to-action that must be delivered through inclusive market models in the largely ignored informal sector and we want to be at the forefront of inclusive business. The purpose of Siyazakhela is to respond to this call for transformation by creating livelihood and inclusive economic opportunities for township residents. We do this by leveraging digital training, growing entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities.
To enable previously disadvantaged individuals to be effective participants in their own economic transformation.
