Brand new, vibey and interesting. Over time it should settle down into a prime tourist attraction, with big show potential.
Great experience and wonderful service from the team working here. We had load shedding during the movie and it was like nothing happened. Great place to go and watch movies.
We were late to our movie because the machine that prints the tickets swallowed our tickets and they had to reprint it. The guy who receives your tickets blonde with a ponytail was extremely rude. He had the worst attitude and made it unpleasant from the start. During the movie we had loadshedding and I understand it's not the cinemas fault but the screen cut off and was off for about 10 minutes before they turned the generators on. The movie then started playing but the sound didn't match the movie and after watching for about 15 minutes the screen cut again and then they rewinded it back to where the movie was the first time the screen cut off. The tickets are affordable though compared to their competition and the cinema was neat.
Cinema outside appearance all new but the inside Cinema seems to be the old boardwalk Cinema.. was dirty and the inside smelt dirty and old carpet ... ladies loo are definitely not new, doors all scratched up on the inside, toilet was not clean...was expecting more. My experience was disappointing
The front cashier was so unfriendly, seemed asif he was not given an opportunity to undergo customer service training however after placing our order for the movie FF10 my mom wanted salt for her popcorn but was declined as they could not offer and was told that they can't assist customers if they needed salt. Well she was dissatisfied with her meal to say the least. At Nu Metro Management please training your staff and note a smile does not cost you anything.
While things were added such as the VIP Section, we were disappointed after having to pay R185 a ticket without snacks to walk into a cinema that was filthy. We were still ten minutes late because our tickets didn't print because the machine swallowed the paper roll. The movie trailers were already showing, yet when we stepped into Scene VIP, there was popcorn scattered all over the floor and seats. Some seats were covered with popcorn flavouring dust. We tripped over popcorn dishes and cool drink cups as the cinema was dark. We had to go inform the staff, and we were asked, "Which seats are you in?" As if we were complaining about our seats specifically. They came in cleaning as fast as they could as the movie started. We felt bad, as the couple booked in front of us actually sat to the side because their seats were still covered in popcorn and the flavouring dust. We just expected a clean cinema after having to pay R185 per ticket. Also, with Sanlam reality, we could purchase the combo when we get to the cinema because it was never allowed online or on the app, tickets only, but all of a sudden it's not available. And we were told that the ticket and combo are one ticket like "always", even though we have had to purchase separately for years. Luckily someone nice enough behind the counter checked the screen and could give us the Sanlam reality combos.
Staff bothers everyone in the middle of the movie to check tickets, old small screens, bad service, no liquor license for the Vip section, though ticket prices are high. All round a bad experience
1 star is all they get because the movie actually started on time. The snack counters were a disaster! To say there were 2 employees serving at the counter would be an overstatement as the one stood for a full 10minutes typing messages on her personal cellphone. After asking for service from her, she merely walked away into the staff office. We were then invited to be served at the VIP counter. There was nothing Very Important about it, as the service was just as slow, to the point that we walked back to the original snack counter where we were eventually served after being shuffled to a different cash till…twice. No surprise that we were late for the movie.
Nothing new about the Cinema to wow us with. John Wick 4 was watched. Online booking was made which wasn't successful due to website problems. Took long time to resolve. Still awaiting credit to be passed. Patrons shouldn't be allowed to use phone inside Cinema.
Great experience, but one of the cashiers named Ntosh refused when i asked to upsize my snacks
