Made in Pretoria , RSA. Low coat bread, tastes good too. They are really trying to penetrate the market. They recently introduced "sour dough" bread which tastes good - I enjoyed this and will buy it again. Thanks for introducing the affordable source dough bread which has health benefits. When you pass by the bakery in the you smell freshness. I give sourdough a 4 out if 5. The other types 3 out of 5.

Bought two Sunbake brown breads, the best before date is the 05/01/2023 and by the the the 04/01/2023 both breads had bad mold.

I started eating Boerstra baked bread from the time I started school up to now as an adult, I have always believed and I still believe that it is the best baked brown bread. Maybe I might be biased, as by the time I was born my father was working there, while it was still owned by Colonel George Boerstra. That time it was perceived to be the best bakery in the southern hemisphere, followed by Standard bakery. They were baking all sorts of breads and confectionery, and they had the best chocolate eclairs and best pastries. They also had very tasty fresh rock and roll and sandwich bread, that we used to enjoy with small Erica butter. Unfortunately because of the passing on of the founder and the problems they experienced with the conscription issues, that led to the bakery exchanging ownership several times. The only pain we still suffer today in Pretoria is that, we miss all that variety of delicious confectionery. We are only left with a very limited choice of bread and rolls. Well, since it is part of a big organization now, I think we will just hold on to our memories, unless a miracle happens and they offer us more products. As for now I only have one choices of the brand where it comes to bread, that is Sunbake for value pricing and quality well baked bread. Unfortunately, what led me to write this review is that I was disappointed to notice that as I was speeding butter on the slice it started breaking apart.Bar code 6009692190222. So, if that starts happening where will I run to . So, I hope you maintain that quality. Because of that real bread smell and that darkish top crust, I am stuck with you.

Awesome bread. I love it but on mondays, your bread has detergent taste. Make sure the whatevers you bake it with are thoroughly rinsed. Sunlight soap or whatever you wash your dishes with does stain the crust of the bread.
