We had two wonderful nights at the Tanda Tula lodge. The service and staff was outstanding. The game drives with Tristen and Given were pure joy. You have to stay with Tanda Tula, when on Safari.
This would be my definition of a 6 star lodge. The game viewing was amazing and covered all the big 5 by the second game drive. The use of trackers ensures high chances of great sightings. The quality of the food was incredible and changing of meal locations keeps things always interesting The service was top notch and attention to every little detail and requests makes Tanda Tula a cut above the rest!
Tanda Tula is being renovated. It will be an exquisite experience once it's done.
We spent a portion of our Honeymoon in Tanda Tula. I couldn’t say enough about this camp. The accommodations are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The food is indescribable; I have never had a 3 course meal where I cleaned ALL my plates until I came here. The owners, Don and Nina, are amazing people with a beautiful family. We were lucky enough to spend time with them and hear all of their stories. They are so knowledgeable as are the rangers and guides. We loved working with Antony our ranger. We had a spectacular time and I barely found any bugs in my tent!! Which is always a plus in the bush
Let me start by saying just go to Tanda Tula. Don't even think of going anywhere else. We have just spent 3 nights there on our first ever safari. And we want to return already. The holiday was perfect right from the airport pick up. In terms of the safari, we had 2 game drives each day. The first at 5.30am after being woken with a coffee and tea tray at 5am, and then an afternoon drive at 4pm after cake and tea. The bush breakfast served on the drive river bed was out of this world. Hot and cold options to satisfy even the largest appetites. Served with sparkling wine. What better was to start the day. Special mention has to go to the food. All of it, and there is a lot, is excellent. Top restaurant quality. I need to go on a diet. And as it is an all inclusive experience you can sample as much of the great South African wines as you wish. There are only 12 luxury tents so everything always feels small and family like. Friendships are quickly forged. The tents are amazing. One of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. An outdoor shower. And a decked area overlooking the river bed to enjoy your afternoon gin and tonics. The staff at Tanda Tula are amazing and I could say great things about all of them. But special mention to Scotch and Patrick, our guide and tracker, who made us laugh, smile, and taught us all about the wide array of animals we saw over the 6 games drives. Who, who sees 3 leopards with kills up trees in one afternoon? We can't wait to get back!
Amazing! It was a dream come true vacation! We were greeted with a welcome drink and cold towel. The grounds are beautiful and the entire staff were extremely helpful and kind. The Chef, Ryan cooks up a delicious feast and is so passionate about cooking and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. Our tent was absolutely Beautiful! Our bed so comfy and double sinks in the bathroom. Outdoor shower! Everything was perfect. Our Guide/Ranger was Brian and he was Fantastic! We saw the big 5 by the second day and also Wild dogs.Plus, an evening of Star Gazing! Our tracker was Steven and he was also wonderful! They made a great team. The swimming pool is 5 stars and it over looks a water hole where you can swim and relax while watching Elephants, leopards and many other beautiful animals near by. Tanda Tula deserves many more stars than 5! We highly recommend staying at Tanda Tula! We will be returning!
Plains Camp was a total digital detox and back to nature amazing experience. Small intimate Camp, incredible food and wonderful staff. Excellent guide and tracker. Highly recommended for those keen on walking and back to basics experience.
An easy 5-star rating. Setting is phenomenal. Game drives checked all the boxes. Food = delicious. I just can’t say enough about the staff. Everyone is keen to help create a wonderful guest experience. A true testament to quality management. Highly recommended.
One of the most amazing safari options out there. Food quality and quantity is amazing but the standard has dropped slightly. Waiting for Rian head chef to get back from his off days . The game viewing has never failed me here. Every single visit I've seen lions and leopards multiple times, most visits - wild dogs and the only scarcity is cheetah in this region, when it comes to the big cats. Staff are friendly, management staff is hands on, regularly visible, involved and super friendly. You're a guest but you're made to feel like family specially when you go as often as I do. They always do something special and go above and beyond to please. The guides are fantastic. Loads of knowledge about the bush and very enthusiastic about their work. Passionate
Beautiful peaceful camp with a very relaxing vibe. Chad the guide is top notch. Ryan the chef goes out is his way to please guests. The rest of the staff is always helpful.
