We stayed here for 1 night in a 3 night trip to Kruger in October. It was great. The bungalow was comfortable and well appointed. We had Aircon which we used in the afternoon. The camp has lovely areas to walk around with monkeys and many birds inside. We took a night drive which was very special. Please let Kruger parks continue because they are doing a great job to protect everything.
We camped for two nights at Satara. Absolutely loved it. Facilities are very clean and tidy even have fresh flowers in the bathrooms. Staff is very friendly. Good swimming pool with loads of shade. We had a couple of booked game drives as well and enjoyed them. The rangers were very professional and knowledgeable.
Friendly welcome from reception staff and restaurant staff were also excellent. Nice clean unit F163 on the perimeter fence. Cattle Barron have the food concession, with larger menu than other camps. Lunch was amazing but dinner could have been better. Well located camp & well worth a visit
We had a great 4 day stay at this camp. Our bungalow was clean and well maintained. The shop is well stocked but expensive. The restaurant overs a great selection of tasty food. The service is a bit slow.
It's a well located camp in the heart of good wildlife. There are so many routes around that you can take. But the camp itself is not very scenic as you can't really see anything from the fence. There are beautiful gardens inside the camp and water ponds that are good for birds and flowers. The new restaurant, Catlle Baron, seems okay. I haven't tried the food ... Please, if the food is not good, tell them.
Lovely restcamp with well equipped shop, nice restaurant and ample tables and chairs to enjoy the outside. Lovely big fever tree in the garden. Clean toilets and some fruit bats in the big tree on the deck!
Satara once again came up to expectations with magic camping facilities. Clean ablutions and a new chemical toilet drop behind the petrol station. The restaurant Cattle Baron serves high quality food and drink al fresco. The butcher shop has a good selection of meat and the biltong is superb. The swimming pool was an absolute bonus in the hot weather.
It was a great stop. Bathrooms were clean but small only two stalls. The store was big and had supplies for overnighting in the park. Lots of food choices. I gave it a three because while there were plenty of employees they weren't exactly friendly. The trash was so overflowed and 6 employees standing around just letting it be until I pointed out that it was unacceptable to allow that to get in that condition. By the time I finished my lunch it had been remedied. There is a self serve lunch counter, a sit down menu restaurant and a coffee/ bar shop.
Stayed in Satara but only once about three years ago. Here we saw our first Lions. There are wonderful beautiful places around, here you will definitely see zebras, giraffes, and other animals and , probably, with some luck lions. The camp has wi-fi, which works efficiently and quickly. This time we were in this computer twice, both times using it as a gas station and as a way to get out into the world via the Internet.
Camped with our caravan for the weekend. Lovely and relaxing, had cool overcast weather and some good rain on our last night. Was blissful.
