We love the Tamboti Camp! We opted for the luxury tent and we were not disappointed. We had the honey badger and the genet come to visit us. Hearing the lions during the night was also very special. The tent was neat and clean and was cleaned the next morning. We were very happy with our visit.
Atmospheric. Life-changing. You've never felt so immersed in the South African bush. A wide range of animals come to visit you, some within arm's reach. The honey badgers and monkeys are bold, keep all food in the cages at all times. In 3 days I enjoyed 7 leopard sightings including a kill. This part of the park hasn't been ravaged by tourists yet and doesn't feel like a zoo as it does in the south of Kruger. Stay wild, Tamboti, I love you.
Fantastic. Perfect spot next to riverbed, abundant wildlife, birders paradise. Clean tented accommodation with shower and toilet. Fridge and cupboards protected by monkeys and badgers. Winnie, the cleaner did a fantastic job everyday cleaning the tent, deck and braai area. Sunset drive ranger and guide, Patrick, was excellent in sharing his knowledge of absolutely everything bush related, and have a very high respect for all animals and took extra care as to not disturb others on our drive to view nocturnal animals. The best drive by far. Sadly, hyena sit at the border fence and badgers come up to deck because if irresponsible visitors throwing left over bones and food to them. It is a fantastic experience seeing these so close, but It puts the lives of these animals in danger with this human behaviour. Entrance gate to Tamboti gate can be better maintained as its filled with soil right up to the trip wire and lions and leopard might be able to enter camp when visitors neglect to close gate at certain time in evening and morning. 1km to Orpen rest camp . Overall an excellent experience.
One of my favorite camps. Tents are far away enough that you feel private. With no solid walls you can hear lions roar and other night sounds. Have to use communal ablusions, but they are satisfactoryRooms: 4/5
Tamboti was one of my favourite camps, but not anymore. The tents are neglected. The tents were always very neat and clean. The baboon and velvet monkeys rule the camp.Rooms: 1/5
Lovely camp, will definitely like to go there again. Our only issue was with the badgers who came and broke into our kitchen on the first night even though everything was locked. The second night we moved the chairs in front of the kitchen and didn't have any issues.
We stayed in one of the luxury tents! Absolutely love this camp!! Basic facilities but clean. Love the atmosphere!!! Peaceful and beautiful! Nightly visits from a honey-badger and a genet made it even more special they do go for the garbage bins, so take the bin inside the tent in the evenings
Really enjoyed our stay here, pitty only some of the tents have an open view to the river, would be nice if all the tents offered the same experience. Could do with slightly better cleaning around the tents, here and there there spotted rubish thats been there for a while. Will be back!Rooms: 5/5
Such an amazing experience to overnight here. The staff are super friendly. Will always include at least one night at Tamboti when we visit the Kruger. Can't wait to get back.
Our site was a bit neglected, rubbish lying around, probably from the monkeys and honey badgers, but please, clean it up. Our site didn't have much of a view, but it was still ok. That said, overall, it is still one of the best camps in the park.Rooms: 3/5
