The camp is well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. What I didn't like is the fact that the restaurant is a Wimpy. For me, is a no go. The camp itself is secluded from the other camps making drives long to get to the the more popular places. But the camp and experience makes up for it. Give it a go. And the prices and discount made it worth while.
I lived here for 4 days, and I enjoyed every second of it. We drove every day, so we literally just needed a place to sleep, and this place was fantastic. We had a rondavel with two single beds, a table and two chairs with a braai on the outside and a big fridge to store daily food supplies This place gets cleaned up every day with fresh blankets and everything, There isn't much to do in the camp, but this isn't the purpose we used it for. Note that there is even a natural swimming pool I would suggest this place for everyone who just needs a place to sleep and eat. There is a shop in the camp for all your daily needs and a Wimpy restaurant Parking: 5/5 Housing: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanness: 5/5 Activities: N/A
Loved it here! The only let down was the food option Wimpy, a local fast food place. If they'd had literally anything else, then this would be a 5 star review. If you're self-catering, then absolutely no hesitations! Rooms: Perfect for what you need them for. Hot water, clean towels and bedding. Incredible value. Nearby activities: Great location, but in the more dense undergrowth so would try and spend nights at other camps. Food & drinks: There's only a Wimpy local fast food joint in Pretoriuskop, which is a bit of a let down. We ate at Skukuza most days, which has by far the better options.
We are campers with our own 4x4 Afrispoor Camper with a Solar Panel. Plenty of sites with or without Electricity connections. Clean Ablutions with Hot Water. Restaurant on site is a Wimpy. All Staff are friendly. The Sanparks Shop, is fabulous, well stocked, but fresh produce is limited. Go to Sanparks website for more information on pricing etc.
This was the last camp on our Kruger trip. We liked it from the last trip, the bungalow in which we were was one of the best in the park - air conditioning brand new, noiseless new refrigerator, everything you need for independent travel, everything met our requirements. And in the morning by breakfest we could enjoy the view of the green vegetation and the monkeys jumping through the trees . From this camp it is very convenient to explore the southern part of the Kruger park. Unfortunately for 2 days we saw not so many animals. We have seen beautiful nature, mountains if you go south, but there were not many animals. On the last day, when we were about to leave Kruger , we were very lucky. Literally in the morning, on the eve of departure, we made the last circle around the camp and what was our amazement, when we saw, almost without hoping to see anything, two leopards. They walked along the sandy road just along the one on which we were driving the car! To see a leopard in a Kruger is great luck, their numbers are smaller than lions and they are more cautious. We were lucky and on this happy note we ended our journey in the Kruger this year!
Nice camp, somewhat neglected, had to insist on getting ablution block lights repaired. Wheelchair accessible, though no bathtub.Rooms: 3/5
I stayed solo in Pretoriuskop camp from February 26 to March 6' 2023. I REALLY enjoyed my vacation! Very friendly staff in camp! I stayed in a ES2 HUT. The fan is lovely strong. Beds a bit hard, but not to bad. I was driving out of camp at 05h30 in the morning and returned in the afternoon. My hut was broom swept everyday. Communal ablutions was fine. Communal kitchen very clean, always boiling water for early coffee! Lots of animals on H1-1 as well as to Nubi Gate, lots of animals on the other roads also. My experience in WIMPY in the camp was very bad! I rather drived to Afsaal for their chicken/mayo roosterkoek, I really loved it Thank you
Pretoriuskop is a very beautiful camp it has great rooms and service The is even a restaurant called Wimpy the swimming pool is Soo beautiful I saw cheetah, hyena, giraffe, elephants and much moreRooms: 5/5
The camp was functioning well, thanks to the staff. The sufficient rain has fostered fullness of grasses, covering the terrain of beautiful green shrub and trees, background of sleek impala and leaping kudu.Rooms: 4/5
Absolutely love Pretoriuskop. What a gem! The rooms were immaculate and spacious. Lots of hyena around the camp as well. Would highly recommendRooms: 5/5
