If you love bees, this place will be paradise. My word. Hundreds upon hundreds of bees all over the place! They're sitting on the cakes, they're in the display case, they're circling you, they're just everywhere. I dont think I'd ever buy cakes there again. I have visited the store before the bee pandemic, and before they downgraded in size, and I'd say the store is okay. Cakes are decent and there are some good finds - like the colorful swiss rolls and their cupcakes. But nowadays those cupcakes come with bees in the icing. Sorry, I just don't like bees.
A lovely range of confectionary but was terribly alarmed at the amount of bees sitting on the pastries etc. I know bees has an important role to play by keeping the circle of life turning. However, I find it terribly unhygienic to consume something with insects that sat all over it. I was told that there's a bee hive nearby and this happened to be an ongoing problem. The owner / manager could have just ensured proper prevention. There are many tips available to prevent bees or flies from entering the store. Even magnetic mosquito netting is great to use and inexpensive. So I'm quite disappointed. I really hope that they able to get the situation under control.
Find the offerings at most cake shops a balance between taste, texture and appearance. In my experience, many go for the latter and compromise on texture and to some degree taste. My first sampling of this venue was rather delightful. Loved all the offerings, so will try them again.
In all the times I've been there my basic order wasn't ready yet and one time the baker wasn't in yet
Lovely customer service, but the cake was quite mediocre. The red velvet does not taste like red velvet and is instead filled with cream and piped with regular butter icing on top which tasted quite appalling. The Cadbury slice actual cake flavour is extremely bitter and does not really taste much like Cadbury as the cake’s bitterness overpowers the ganache/dressing.
Fantastic quality you can taste nothing but the best ingredients was used. Other bakeries you can taste the mass production and Cheap ingredients. The Cake Shop should have been named "Mommys House"
