SEAFOOD & COCKTAILS ON THE BEACH

Description

Perfectly poised on the magnificent Dolphin Coast beach front, The Galley Beach Bar offers a dining experience that captivates and intrigues. Each dish is prepared by the finest chefs and offers a true marriage of flavours that will guarantee a voyage of culinary discovery – from our signature symphony of Seafood Platters to our famous Mexican Chilli Nachos.
Delight the senses further with an exquisite 180° view of the beautiful Salmon Bay whether you are sharing an intimate candlelight dinner for two or enjoying a variety of sundowner cocktails with friends in our crisp dining room on the lower deck. If the call of the ocean is simply too irresistible for the kiddies, our childminders are on hand during the day to supervise while they heed the call.

In a tasteful harmony of opposites, we offer a rustic bar on our upperdeck with large screen televisions for sports fanatics who appreciate a magical combination of frosted drinks, a good game and the dazzling Indian Ocean backdrop.
Step out onto the Starboard side and welcome the sunrise with an outdoor breakfast that includes breathtaking views of the most majestic ocean creatures at play. Witness the mysteries of the ocean at night with our floodlit beach and illuminated clouds of white foam that lethargically caress the shore.

The Galley Restaurant is owner managed and offers secure parking and a kiddie menu. Our experienced and dedicated crew have only one objective – to turn your dining experience into a harmony of the senses.

It can be a dreamy peaceful beachside chic restaurant to dine before tourist season or a crowded hip hangout similar to Nikki Beach Miami in the summer. Regardless the food is amazing with views to match. Max reservations are 2 weeks out. Plan to spend hours relaxing.
Very underwhelming experience here. The cost of the meal was asinine. You can go to so many other places on the island for a much better meal at a cheaper cost. Service lacked class for such an “esteemed” venue. Just a very bland experience and won’t be going back when there are many other great options. Chowder came out cold, lobster tail was rubbery and potatoes were greasy. “Glass of wine” turned out to be 2 sips worth too. Just could tell it was an operation to get people in and out. Location is great but that’s it.
Had an amazing dinner at Galley Beach. Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Menu 3/5 - It's annoying that they say the two course menu is $89 per person and then they charge an extra price for about 50% of the dishes on the menu. At this point just make the menu prices a la carte. The food itself is great but the way this menu is structured is a little unnecessary. Views: 10/5 - We ate on the beach and it was really amazing. Would definitely recommend. Parking 1/5 - Not a fan of valet parking. The meal is expensive enough without adding on $15 for my car to be parked. Would recommend parking elsewhere and walking.
Location is stunning but the food is very underwhelming. The crab cake was nice but had a very strong fishy flavor. If you aren’t one who can handle the strong taste I would skip. Ordered the salmon and it was lacking flavor. Brussels sprouts were bland and the sauce was also lacking. My friend ordered the Swordfish and was much more seasoned though still underwhelming. This is definitely a place for cocktails and enjoying the sunset. Skip the food and eat someplace else.
Overpriced tourist trap. While Galley Beach makes a nice cocktail, it ends there. The food is atrocious and wildly over priced. We ordered the lobster bisque and caesar salad as our appetizers. Both were inedible and sent back unfinished. The entrees featured an almost dangerously undercooked lobster tail and a filet more overcooked than a bad wedding. The bill includes a very questionable 23% service fee, considering there wasn’t much service to be had. Hard, hard pass.
Location is stunning! The food was very good, and the service as well. The beach was so beautiful! Definitely recommend getting the crème brûlée, and be sure to also book a few weeks in advance.
The location is great. You literally dine right on the beach. The food is a bit more original than the usual island stuff. Prices are high, but hey.
The whole experience was spectacular! The food was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I’m not one to get a veggie meal but the autumn seasonal vegetables were superb. So fresh and beautifully prepared. The salmon was perfectly cooked for me, personally, medium rare center with crisp skin. The truffle sauce, incredible touch! Paired perfectly with the veggies. My husband loved the halibut he got. The wine selection was nice, we liked the Baron de L Sauvignon Blanc. The sunset to finish was a perfect ending! We will be back.
Nice place yet very pricy ...not for a often night outFood: 4/5
Not very polite servers at the time of eating here waited a long time and felt very rushed to leave the place. Were told it was extremely busy but there were a lot of empty tables. The food was fine, but the location is the real reason to eat here. When we did get brought the bill the waiter never once spoke to us. The tip was included.
