SandBar - Umdloti Beach

Sandbar Restaurant has a fabulous vibe, engaging and quirky interior decor, and it's location is ideal, with unobstructed views of the ocean. We would have preferred to have been informed at the time of making our booking, that the kitchen was going to close within 15 minutes of the time our table was booked for. However, once we had hustled our orders through to the kitchen, we could relax and really begin to enjoy the beachside vibe. The food was very good. Although there were several preferred menu options that were unavailable on the day, management handled it well, presenting satisfactory alternative options. We all enjoyed our selections very much. The Thai prawn soup was especially excellent. Sandbar Restaurant is a great place, especially good to have some drinks and a delicious meal at sundown, to best appreciate the beach-side feel.

Sandbar was a really great experience. The food is absolutely amazing. I suggest their seafood platter for two. The fish is cooked to perfection drowned in creamy sauces. The venue is really easy to access. I would recommend booking a table in advance. The interior design of the venue is quite unique.

Love it! On a Saturday, packed, could have sat on the patio because the reserved tables where still empty when we left. However, we were a walk in they seated us inside. We had a super nice waiter, ordered sushi we did order a bunch of sushi but it looked so good we ate it, forgot to take a picture and a Caesar salad. The salad was a little overdressed made the lettuce soggy the sushi was good. Great turn over and nice ambiance. Dig the music. Lovely afternoon. Definitely coming back. PS: If you're looking for someplace cheap this is not it, but still worth the ronts.

We stopped here for lunch today and the good things are amazing like the view the location right in front of the beach the whales dancing in the bay and the waitress - very very good BUT for the manager and the food they get 2 stars only As we arrived the manager I assume? kept interrupting the waitress while we chose a place to sit a strange guy in a floral shirt that kept bouncing around saying that’s reserved that’s reserved his attitude was really unappealing! The food was sorry to say on the terrible side I ordered the cheese board and the Brie cheese was sour and fried in a super salty batter the Thai curry I ordered was supposed to be chicken but it was 90% veg and totally over salted and flavours overpowering to the max my sons fish was ok and the ribs were so sweet they were quite unenjoyable - Sorry guys you have a great venue but that menu needs an overhaul or a review or something it’s very sad because your venue and waitress was and is amazing!

Very nice dining experience. Waitress was friendly and very helpful nice to see a waitress passionate about her tables . Was dissapointrd with the Rump. Very tough and cold in the middle. My wife enjoyed the veg sushi being a vegan that made her happy. Nice vibe nice staff. After dinner enjoyed a drink in the beautiful bar.

Very pretty setting across the beach. Service was excellent just like the food. Parking was a little bit of an issue and the place got really busy very quickly so I'd expect you'd want to get a reservation before going although we got lucky and got a table as a walk in. Parking: Parking is pretty tight.

Had an amazing experience for my birthday. Had amazing food as well. The food was delicious. I thought they wouldn't have my favourite beer. Guess what, the did 6 star

Wonderful place. Our waitress Nonto was outstanding, and the service was faultless. Great food in an unrushed and relaxing environment. Fantastic view. Highly recommended.

Seating next to the window facing the sea was spectacular, the service by nick was exceptional, the food overall was good, the fish of the day was firstly a small sized portion and was overcooked.

The most amazing experience and wonderful service! Our waitress Nonto was stellar! I would 100% recommend her and this restaurant
