It was a spontaneous girls day out. We has opted for lunch with a view of the lighthouse and sparkling crystal blue pool. I had fish and chips. Being Muslim, they explained that the battered fish would be swapped for a grilled fillet of fish. It was beautifully seasoned. I was surprised to find bones in the fillet. Perhaps the chefs could be more careful during preparation. My friend enjoyed the chicken wrap, which was quite flavourful and sumptuous. The side salad was crisp, bright and fresh. Service was slow, due to the lunch rush. The wait staff were attentive despite the full restaurant. It just meant waiting a bit longer for food. I would recommend this place, but perhaps during a quieter time if you're impatient.
The best place for a celebration. The breakfast buffet is legendary. The food is phenomenal and service is excellent! Truly a world class experience not easy to find in South Africa. I always celebrate my birthday at the Oyster Box with good reason.
I loved everything about this place. Super polite and extremely attentive staff. Here you feel like you don’t even meed to walk, someone will run to carry you. We got a complementary upgrade to the ocean view; it was amazing. Pool is fun and beach is super cool you have direct access. We dined at the grill room, I felt like I was in a 80’s American romantic movie on a cruise. Was lovely. The breakfast on the terrace was also amazing. Top notch selection on colds and hots, sparkling wine and you can even upgrade to oysters. We’ll probably be back.
The night lights were beautiful, serene, with the sound of the waves washing ashore. The lighthouse at night looks exquisitely beautiful. The food however was not to my liking, not sure if it was just what I ordered. The service is impeccable. For dinner with a view it's a definite must.
It was my first visit, and the service from the guy at the access control to the receptionists, security and waiters was second to none. I was really impressed with their service nsand friendly nature always willing to go that extra mile with no fuss for their guests. Really amazing experience. Highly recommended.
We lived in South Africa 1986-2006. Oyster was always a highlight when we visited the coast. Loved the iconic lighthouse. Beach is pristine and loved eating breakfast out on the patio, enjoying an ocean view. From current reviews, glad to see it's still a classy place.
Still one of the more unique Hotels in KZN. Looking a little dated in places but no where near as dated as its neighbor. Great service from staff. The restaurants food is okay, and the Sushi was disappointing. Centrally located and easy access to beaches and malls.
This place will give you the most amazing five star experience you will ever experience to the tee. Very top tier service and attention to detail right to the smallest of things you could imagine. Phenomenal food and service. We ate lunch on the terrace and could not fault it. Service was exceptional and the food and cocktails were amazing. Generous portions and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our experience
A classic,sophisticated,elegant hotel that will leave you breathless and wishing for more! Although it's a bit pricey it's most definitely worth every single penny that you have! From the entrance to the main door, you are ushered into the hotel by a friendly doorman and into one of the MOST AMAZING PLACES!!! THE HOTEL SMELLS DEVINE AND LOOKS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS with old Victorian interior design that will have you thinking of England this is definitely worth a vist!. The hosts are unbelievably friendly and well mannered, the stuff ever so helpful, the food scrumptious and fulfilling, the live music will have you miss your significant other and the views of the ocean breath taking !
