The shop originally opened in April 1997 and I took ownership in August 2004. At the time we traded under the name House of Paint and was sole stockists of Chem Spec paint and related products.

I worked for Chem Spec from 1995 and was always extremely loyal to the brand. Since Chem Spec went into Liquidation in August 2015, we had no alternative but to look for new suppliers! I decided on Dekade, and the main reason for that is that I trust the people I am dealing with when it comes to quality! Therefore I also changed my trading name to The Paint Library.

I am in the shop every single day, it is hard work but I enjoy what I do.

We offer accurate colour matching and tinting and sell a very good quality product with a 10 year guarantee that is reasonably priced!

We also offer expert advice and have a good understanding of colour. We stock a range of Decorative, Industrial and Woodfinish products.

Good sevice with initial sale BUT try and buy the same colour again. Promises were made that you can buy the same colour for 30 years, we tried buying the same colour 1,5 years later for touchups but after 3 cans they still cannot get it right. Now there is just silence from the paint library on assistance and calls.
