The Rosendal Country Retreat

The Rosendal Country Retreat is newly renovated and is perfect for any guest! The attention to detail in the spacious rooms was much appreciated. There are stunning views from the central lounge area and the beautiful gardens provide lots of space for young children to play and explore. Hammocks and chill mats tied to the trees invite one to kick off your shoes and sit back with a drink in the hand. The hot tub is in the perfect pisition from where to enjoy a sunset cocktail. Friendly and helpful staff see to it that the rooms and are spotless. The fireplaces do not only provide heat on a chilly night, but add to the atmosphere.

Great place to calm down and relax! The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and so are the rooms. I especially enjoyed that the fireplace was good to go, there was fresh bread,jam and coffee ready to go. The kitchen is equipped for a small stay and the attention to detail is great. There’s even yoga mats in the room!

The Rosendal Country Retreat provided us with so much serenity and quality sleep. The rooms were spacious and quite stunning, so as the surrounding areas Visit Beverly at the Art Contemporary art gallery : . We really enjoyed using the fireplace and the wood-fired hot tub while catching the beautiful sunset. The fresh bread was also amazing! The peace and tranquility of the Retreat was what made my stay so memorable.

Really peaceful setting with the gardens set out beautifully. A perfect place to relax. The rooms are very neat and well equipped with the kitchenette and facilities .

I had a wonderful experience at The Rosendal Country Retreat. The rooms were so comfortable and I loved how homey it felt. The Free State is absolutely gorgeous and staying at The Rosendal made my study abroad trip in South Africa so much more incredible!

Free State’s hidden gem! Truly the most tranquil and serene country retreat. I love the slow living ambiance and minimalistic approach of this establishment. The village of Rosendal is incredibly beautiful beyond words. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the amenities offered are luxurious. The staff was always willing to assist. The best feature has to be the wood-fired hot tub with an incredible view of the Maluti mountain range. It’s just the perfect place to unwind and get away from the hustle bustle of city life

I really loved this place. The staff made you feel so welcome. The Woodburn hot tub was in my opinion the best feature. I absolutely loved it. Every morning is like an adventure, going to explore the breakfast the little town and getting breakfast at the cutest restaurants. I think it's the best place to get away from city living and recharge before heading back again. I loved it and would absolutely recommend

This self-catering hotel with an excellent kitchenette as well as supplying coffee, tea, fresh milk, rusks, heavenly freshly baked bread with butter and jam is top class. Truly a magic experience: Tastefully decorated, extravagant roomy units. Luxurious bedding, towels and complementary bathroom products. A wood burning fireplace with the wood supplied ! in every unit. An excellent restaurant with pub 1 minute walking distance away. Beautiful gardens and a magnificent view. The town of Rosendal is everything a sick-of-the-rat-race city person can dream of. The road from JHB if you take the correct one - don't listen to your GPS !!! is PERFECT, except for the last about 5km, which is not bad at all and is also in the process of being fixed.
