Very good food found here. It is a quick and easy buffet. Staff are friendly and quick to assist Definitely worth a turn if you are really hungry. Very spacious. There must be seating for at least 200 people It is worth a visit

We chose The Village Buffet for our Eid celebrations yesterday and we were highly disappointed, not by the food, but how disorganized and chaotic it was. We were standing like a herd of sheep waiting to be shown to our tables, little kids being pushed and squashed. Management really needs to plan better especially when hosting such a big occasion. Our session was meant to start at 4pm but we had to crowd and wait for tables to be cleaned and decked before we were seated. Why not allow yourself 30 minutes of cleaning time and have your session start at 4h30 pm to allow yourself enough time to do whats needed and avoid your guests waiting around. The only hero of the night was the food, even though we had to queue for an hour before sitting to enjoy it.

Found a big spoon lying underneath the "supposed butter chicken", which contained very,very little morsels of chicken, alerted one of the ladies behind the buffet, she simply just took it out with another spoon and went to the back. Waited more than 10 minutes for dessert spoons. No hot veg anywhere. Vegetarian options: Only saw potatoes, pumpkin and one salad.

I felt the place lacked something like renovations so that it can be welcoming but the food was just ohk, just annoyed that it's a buffet but one is limited on how ribs one should take and not much variety of food but either than that, thank you for the experienceFood: 3/5

An absolute classic family restaurant on the long street. Friendly staff, amazing community members that are welcoming to visitors in the area. We went there at night, walked there...a first if you are from Joburg and we were still safe. The food, have a wide range menu...I only ordered dessert cause it was late, the ice cream and waffle, the waffle was freshly baked and wonderful to have. Its different from Jozi experiences but awesome, so go there with an open mind.

On 12 March 2023, my wife and I went to The Village Buffet for lunch. Being as hungry as I was, I was really looking forward to having lunch there, considering that I was last there in 2016. What a disappointment. Food standard has really gone down, variety offered has gone down, the quality has gone down, yet you are EXPECTED to pay the 10% gratuity. What made this Sunday experience worse, was when I saw a rat racing to hide under the table in the starter foods section - oh boy was that disgusting to see! I couldn't wait to leave. Imagine eating a piece of rib, then you see a rat running across the hallway and suddenly you wonder what meat is on the bone? Sorry, just trying to make you understand how disgusted I felt. From my observations, they used to be great, but now they are just disgusting and in denial.

There is a variety of freshly prepared delicious food that is also visually appealing. And bottomless beverages. They are so generous with all the food and drinks. They ensure that the food is constantly topped up and warm. The dessert is prepared while you wait and the ice cream is flavourful. The staff are so friendly and efficient and welcoming. The decor is so authentic and the chairs are very comfortable. Clean and neat cutlery and crockery
