Thendele Hutted Camp

Peaceful and comfy. Great resort for hiking and getting away from the busy cities. I always find the name "camp" a little strange in connection to these resorts. The camp is a collection of huts and bungalows, fully furnished and well equipped with kitchenettes. It's clear that the structures are not new, and that money for upkeep is short, nevertheless, staying here is very comfortable. Certainly more so than in a tent.

If you’re looking for peace, quiet, rest and the most phenomenal views of the majestic Amphitheater, this place is five stars. It’s no Ritz-Carlton and the accommodation is basic, but it is comfortable and has most of the facilities and equipment you’ll need for a weekend-away-in-nature. The beds are comfortable and the linen is clean and the rooms are cozy and quiet. Each unit has a braai with grill on the mountain facing side which ensure the most fantastic evenings are enjoyed cooking around a fire. If you’re a hiker this place is gold as there are many walks of all lengths and difficulties which you can access from the camp. All-in-all, Thendele Camp is a place that my family will return to for sure. The Ezemvelo staff that run the place are friendly and do a great job making this place as great as it is to stay.

This place is set in a spectacular area. Totally surrounded by beauty. From numerous waterfalls to wildlife and mountains. The silence is so peaceful and the air so clean. I drank from a stream of water during a hike and the water is crystal clear and ice cold. So refreshing. We swam in the river which we did by getting off the bridge. Just so beautiful!

Perhaps the most beautiful view in the Berg. We stayed in a Chalet unit. Rooms are well appointed, but the braai stands are getting tired. For a self catering facility it would be nice to have a bigger fridge with a proper freezer. Also a pity that they do nothing to discourage the baboons from running rampant through the camp. These few negatives made me assign a 4 star rating.

Nice place. Beautiful views of the Drakensburg amphitheater. Lacking a bit of maintenance. Stunning walks into the mountains.

Very nice indeed. Tiger falls and beyond recommended and Tungela falls nice too but challenging. You will need to cross the river many times so be prepared with some good shoes... Dont be get scared to get your shoes wetRooms: 5/5

The location and the views are amazing! The chalet was good enough for us. Only minor issue was that we prepared our hike the day before buying a map, asking if the trail would be available, ... only to discover on the day itself that we could not do the hike due to the fire activities only announced at the time we were ready to start our hike. We had to change our entire plan on the spot but had a good day after all. The staff could have been more helpful but maybe they just lack the experience/knowledge .

Stayed at the 6 person luxury lodge, and it was absolutely stunning. The view was out of this world gazing at the amphitheater from all the beautiful curved picture windows. Felt like an out of Africa, last century luxury stop over. Wilson was a gem with the dishes and cleaning. And the cherry on the top is that it's situated in the middle of my absolute favorite park and hiking area.

Mos beautiful resort - view from paradise, only services terrible. Check-in screved up by front desk, trying to sell unnecessary room for us. Only location it top, top !!!Rooms: 4/5
