Flawless service. A very professional person welcomes you and lead you to the person in charge of your booking. Efficient, smiling. Nice sitting area in front of the agency for the family to wait while you do the paperwork. A fountain water is also available.
After my bad experience with First Car Rental Cape Town Airport, I popped in at Thrifty Car Rentals. Sorry guys, at the moment I cannot agree with the bad service and bad recommendations you got here against Thrifty.. I was greeted with an amazing smile, after listening to my dilemma, a Thrifty Staff member assisted in finding me a rental at an affordable price.. Not all Capetonians working at Car Rentals are angry you know who you are. Service i received was outstanding, friendly and very helpful staff.. Now we wait and see if I my holding deposit is returned..
We initially booked with First, as we flew with FlySafair, but when we arrived they said I had to be 23 and up I'm 21, we booked it on their website, paid and everything, and they did not give us a car. We walked over to Thrifty, and within 10 minutes, we had a great car, at literally the same price that First charged us. The consultant was super friendly and super helpful and we were out of there can you believe they rented a car to a 21-year-old : Two days ago we arrived back from our trip and I've already received my deposit back. Thank you Thrifty, never use another rental service again!
I continue to use Thrifty. Their prices are very competitive, their cars are in first class order with a modern fleet. Every single member of staff is first class, even the check in guy at CapeTown return 2 days ago, who came chasing after me almost as we reached the terminal building as I had left my wallet in the car......thank you so much.
It was a relief when Thifty had cars available when my husband and I landed in Cape Town in January, as several other car rental places at the airport turned us away. That relief has turned to frustration. It has now been 17 days since the car was returned in pristine condition on 31 January, and my R3500 deposit has yet to be returned. On 5 Feb I went to their office in the airport and asked about it, and they said it has been released and can take 7 to 10 days to reflect. Nothing appeared after 14 days so on Tuesday 14 February I phoned and again, they made promises about followups. I haven't got a call, or an email, or my money. What's going on?? Why should I have to chase for money they took within seconds?
We rented a Quantum from here in early January for a few days. We were very happy with the car and also the service. The deposit was also returned within Good time. Thanks guys!
Like many others we are having to constantly chase them for our deposit to be returned. £600!! I booked through holiday rentals so I didn’t get to choose the agency myself - had I seen these reviews I wouldn’t have chosen thrifty. It is blatant theft!!! How is a company based at the airport not able to manage the basics of car hire. I presume I’ll get the standard “we’re sorry we’d like to know more” response to this but we’ve called you everyday and emailed and we are constantly told “requesting for it to be released” “following up” NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Just do it already. It’s 1 month now since we’ve returned the car, why are your customers having to work so hard for something we are contractually owed!!?
After a very unpleasant delayed flight, the night ended with top service from Thrifty Cape Town airport. Although it was after midnight, they were waiting for me and the process was quick. Their concern was appreciated and Sihle was so kind, he fetched the car and loaded my luggage which included a wedding gown which was handled with great care. Thank you Sihle, you made it all worthwhile!
Poor service and very disappointing for a repeat customer. They stored card details from a previous rental and charged me for things I don’t understand. They owed me close to R10 000.00 for a refund and after 5 months of trying to get hold of them I eventually got under paid. My window wiper fluid was empty, there was a chip in the windscreen which wasn’t marked down and no one came to go over the vehicle with me before I left. Highly recommend DO NOT use them.
Took the mercedes Vito, lots of squeaky sounds but a great comfortable drive, reliable and fuel efficient. Thanks guys
