Der Tower of Terror im Freizeitpark Gold Reef City im Süden von Johannesburg ist eine Stahlachterbahn, die im Dezember 2001 eröffnete. Sie war von 2005 bis 2007 wegen Umbauarbeiten geschlossen. Die Achterbahn wurde von Ronald Bussink konstruiert und von lokalen Unternehmen hergestellt.Der Turm der Bahn ist ein ehemaliger Förderturm von einem etwa fünf Kilometer entfernten Goldbergwerk. Der Senkrechtlift zieht die Wagen in 34 m Höhe. Die 50 m hohe Abfahrt führt 15 m unter die Erdoberfläche. Dabei erreicht der Wagen eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 95 km/h und es wirken Fliehkräfte von 6,3 g auf die Mitfahrenden. Der Tower of Terror besitzt einzelne Wagen. Tower of Terror, terror being the main word in their name!  As fellow reviewer Abu also confirmed, it is the theme park ride pulling the most G's... in the world! At the bottom of fall where the ride levels out it pulls 6.3G. The ride that is second pulls 5.9G but was discontinued in 2001....  2 x rows of 4 people sit behind each other. You go up the tower and sit for about 10s at the top, probably the longest 10s you will ever experience in your life. The expectation is terrifying in itself. Then you don't fall, you are catapulted there are more colourful Afrikaans words that better describe it... down the shaft. Going down it's best to brace your head back into the seat or you will surely hurt your neck.  The whole drop to the end is probably 15s, but truly effing aggressive!

It fun, enjoyable and I prefer everyone to try the ride

The most heart racing ride. Only takes 8 at a time so lines can get quite long. It consists of a short ride, lift, vertical drop, quick level out and a ride back to base.

It's a fun lekker place to enjoy your self

Greatest roller-coaster in South Africa that will leave you lot for words. Beware of the waiting time.

I don't know how did it but what I know is that I'm never doing it again   

One of the best rides in the park, Its not for the feint hearted

It is part of the Golf Reef City Theme Park and it is a ride that one must go on when visiting the Theme Park.

It's scary but fun, makes you feel like you are dying

The ride with the most G's in the world! Love it!
