Uhuru Guest Farm

Our stay at Karoowater exceeded my expectations. Our chalet was spacious, clean and well maintained. The kitchen was very well equipped, from a plunger to a grater, enough bowls and quality crockery. There were enough thick, warm blankets for cold Karoo nights. Although some chalets are attached, I was amazed by the good sound barrier as I could never hear the visitors next door. Between the hot water pool and all the animals, our kids were well entertained for hours. Staff were professional, friendly and efficient. There is plenty activities to do in the area. I will recommend Karoowater to anyone looking for a family break away.

We had the most amazing stay here. Staff were very friendly and the views fantastic. This is a very rustic farm styled guest farm so don’t expect luxury but I highly recommend this place. It’s a hidden gem and something a little put of the norm.

There is so much to say about Karoowater, that I'm not sure where to start. BUT, if you want an amzing place to stay, then yes! this is your place. We started and booked 3 nights in the budget chalets, but it was just too small for my family, the unit was well kitted with everything one needs, and there is a braai and jungle gym for the kids. Next night we moved to the 6 sleeper, which was perfect for 5 people, the bed was super comfy, and the braai area was perfect. The kids ran around and we didn't know where they were most of the time, they came back for food, for them and the animals. The kids loved the cockatoo, who dances and really interacts with people. The monkeys love bananas and apples. LOL. The hot springs are clean, warm, oh so warm! And perfect. Even during loadshedding, there are lights for the night swimmers. The cold pool slide was put on at request winter and a lot of brave people used it, including our 2 kids. The ducks and koi were amazing, and got well fed. The food was good, and super quick service. We booked for 3 nights, and ended up staying for 4 nights, so we went to "oppikoppi", which has amazing views, and is well kitted out, but a bit far from the jungle gym. So our kids stood at the bottom of the mountain at sundown and called up to be collected. But even that was an adventure. We had the best time. It is probably the most memorable holiday I have ever had with my family, and we are definitely going to be back with reinforcements of family and friends for regular visits. The people are so friendly and accommodated our nomadic moving between chalets. So thank you!! Karoowater!! For the best time. It was actually amazing and I can't wait to go back.

Such a gem! Beautiful view, comfortable, neat & clean beds. Fully stockedcan maybe add a sharp chef knife?, but we will definitely return!

Amazing Resort,friendly staff. Nice and shady grass camp sites.We went for our December holiday and enjoyed it. Andrea , Heidi and staff make you feel like family. Third time at Karoowater. Twice in chalets and last year camping. Very friendly campers. Will be going back again.

What an amazing resort we had an absolute blast. We went there for our December holidays, going back in March. Andrea and the rest of the staff are out of this world, amazing people they make you feel like family and welcomes you with open arms. It’s worth the drive from Cape Town will go back every time ‍

Friendly staff. Nice and shady grass area for camping. Washing facilities to do laundry as well. Bathrooms are clean but very small only two toilets and one shower in the woman’s bathroom. Remember to bring your own toilet paper as well! It’s nice and quiet until the macaws get going… they are beautiful birds but not so when they wake you up at 4.30am…

A quiet place when we were there, but I think it can get a lot busier. But adequate facilities to keep everybody happy and the management tries very hard to keep the place quiet. Playground and pool for children made us decide to come back when the grandchildren are visiting.

Lovely clean well equipped chalets. Recommend for a relaxing break.
