Tweni Caravan Resort is a very nice and quiet place, but it is not for the younger generation. All the campers is older people and the slightest thing is upsetting them, no loud music after sun set, no loud speaking even. Old aunties walking around with a broom and mop behind you cleaning as you enter ablution blocks, wherever you go they are behind you cleaning. It's very nice and quiet but definitely not for the younger generation. Will look for a place on the South Coast next time, which is much more entertaining!
Place is beautiful and caretakers are as helpful, friendly and caring. The workers are helpful and friendly. The place is safe to camp. The campsite is always clean. Toilets very clean as is the showers and laundry room. Would recommend Tweni for any camper for long stand or just camp for holiday.
An absolute wonderful place to stay! Friendly, helpful, caring people, clean facilities, beautiful nature setting, peaceful atmosphere, pet friendly ... They took care of us as if we really matter to them and helped us when we needed help desperately. I will definitely recommend this resort to everybody and hope to return myself one day.
Absolutely awesome resort. Since under new management the improvements has been absolutely awesome. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities are kept cleen. Any complaints are dealt with promptly and sufficiently. Have seen a couple of valse reviews from people that haven't camped here but we can with all honesty just say good things about the resort. Dont know who Piet Pomp is or what his problem is but he sure like to talk nonsense.
Definitely a piece of Paradise if you want to enjoy the interaction with the elements of nature without being disturbed by the mayhem of a city jungle. Birds wake you up with their songs of celebrating the new dawn at 4.15am NOW as I pen and sometimes the greetings from the fish eagles. The ambiance of the dawn breaking certainly alludes itself to those who prefer yoga and meditation at this celebratory time. The resort when fully awake brings all the children out to play. There is a mini playground and volleyball ball on grass court which allows for their energy release. It's also bike friendly to the youngsters. It's reassuring to note that the joyful sounds of children at play is punctuated by the watchful wisdom of the older generation present. A forming template for future smaller sustainable communities. The river estuary is ever inviting for boating and fishing. The resort does have a selection of craft for hire. There is a Lapa and braai facilities which can be utilize by resort residents as well as a venue hired out to day visitors. There was much foresight by the resorts initial developers with regards to it's location. Above a riverbank at a tidal estuary a few hundred meters from the ocean covered by a canopy of trees sheltered in a valley. On the windiest days it's completely protected from the extremeness of such weather effects. Hygiene levels are of the highest level with some dedicated resident staff cleaning the ablution facilities as early as five am. Notwithstanding the early session there is cyclical cleaning occuring during the day given the almost full capacity of the resort. The current occupancy attests to the popularity of this resort. Having recently come under new management this resort is like Aladin's lamp being shined to bring out the Genie of camping caravan park on the South coast. Many improvements and maintenance issues have been speedily dealth with prior to the festive season and much more planned for the coming year. When are you planning to visit?
Quaint little get away. Lovely and friendly. Facilities are good. River banks have burst so the estuary is low. Reccomend
Amazing location! Awesome lagoon/river with sand banks for kids to play on and tidal water for paddling or fishing. Very short drive to fantastic beaches. Very friendly and helpful staff. Power and water at each site caravan adaptors necessary. Grassy or gravel sites depending on your preference. Sheltered from most of the coastal winds and lots of shade. Bathrooms in very good condition and very clean. Gas geysers meant load shedding didn't bother us! Wash up areas spacious and space for many to use at once no cues to clean your dishes!. We saw washing machines and tumble dryers, but didn't need to use them ourselves. Communal braai facilities available and look great also did not test ourselves
Absolutely a wonderful place to be. Will defnitly visit again
