This is one of the newest and best gyms in Kwazulu Natal. Had it not been for this gym not having a sauna facility, I would’ve rated this gym a solid 5/5. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment is world-class, well-maintained and readily available. The ambience throughout the facility is exquisite. If you’re willing to drive a good 30km from Umhlanga and 45km from the Durban CBD, you will not be disappointed with your experience at Virgin Active Ballito. Parking is free and secure therefore you can workout for as long as you want without having to worry about paying parking fees.
Signed up online in March. Was never sent a confirmation and only found out had gone through in mid April. Still waiting for free gym bag 2 months after my contract started. Also can't use app as apparently only the manager needs to enter a secret code for this to work. Have left numerous messages at reception for Manager to contact me... Still waiting. Gym itself is mediocre versus other Virgin Actives...limited machines that are often not in working order and are very dated.
I cancelled my membership and confirmed it three times both over the phone, in branch, and in writing, and they still continue to direct debit my account. Do not sign up for this gym, I have heard so many horror stories of members being charged for months after they’ve finished their contract with no refunds given. I will never be using the Virgin Active brand again and will be taking legal action if these debits aren’t refunded.
Virgin Active Ballito is in shocking condition. Many of the machines are damaged and attachments for the cable machines are missing. A total of 7 machines are broken and out of order. Seems like there are more breaking every week. Most of the dumbell’s plates are loose, and very dangerous. Don’t see how this gym passes a Health/Safety inspection.
Horrific service rather lack of service. Signed up for a promotion which meant there was no joining fee only to find out that my application was not completed on their side and due to that mistake I need to pay a joining fee. I don't think there is a general manager as I have had no luck in getting feedback.
If I stayed in Ballito, I’d be happy training here. Nice people.
Will the re-modelers of the La Lucia VA please come give Ballito some of that ....old, limited, unsmart equipment, crowded spaces - this gym can be so much better for the growing Ballito community.
Gym is mediocre at best. Limited equipment Lots of equipment broken and damaged Staff are not helpful and friendly Coffee shop is good with health shakes and breakfast. Overall this is poor facility that needs a serious change. They only reason people are going to the gym is that there are no other options
Definitely one of my Favorite Virgin Actives. Always neat and tidy.
The spinning bikes all need to be replaced... Only half of them are in working order! Ridiculous
