No backup at all for load shedding. It's disappointing. The land lord of Glen acres shopping centre must do something. We literally train in the dark. It's a safety hazard. The upside about this gym though is that, unlike other gyms, everyone here is friendly. Both staff and members. It's refreshing.
I went for a step class and arrived 15 min late but was still able to attend. The routine was quite advanced but really fun and easy to learn and the music complements the routine well. The instructor divided the class into two sections and I was at the back of the advanced side. He never spoke out loud, just used gestures to communicate.
Great Gym....just need a generator to cater for load shedding not their fault thouf that SA some have stable electricity
Staff is very friendly. Showers are small, the gym needs upgrade. Pool very slippery bcs of the tiles. They have very few classes compared to my home gym Glenvista. Equipment is cleaned immediately after each class and are kept separately - marked clearly on the wall- USED/ CLEAN that's great.
I must say, although the equipment may be older than most gyms, this is one of the best ones I've been too. Makes you feel like you're pumping iron. Nice and open as well. I never feel cramped, even during peak. They could you one more smith machine. Maybe another incline bench. Other then that, great gym. If you don't mind older equipment When I say older equipment, I don't mean what Arnold used back in the day. Just not the newest.
The staff, very friendly and helpful. A large variety of classes. Machinery is top tier. The only downer is that during load shedding the machinery does not operate.
It is ridiculous that the gym has not provided for loadshedding, since Kempton Park NEVER has power! We pay a subscription and shouldn't be limited to times and days there are no loadshedding.
Already regreting signing up a membership with them.The staff weren't friendly and they told me I can't get a bag because it's out of stock and there's nothing they can do about itLapho mina I joined because I wanted the bag Didn't tell me if I'm going to have an instuctor helping me with the machines since I'm new at the gym.They just gave me the card I think it's because I signed up with the consultant from the headquarters and not one of theirs
Needs to install a generator. Trained in the dark for about an hour yesterday! Get with the times Virgin. Loadshedding isn't going away. Thinking of changing gym's!
They finally have a Kauai can’t wait to try that out, Kauai awesome nice reward after a work out. Was a 4 star now a 1 star, the virgin active staff at reception have terribly attitude so unhelpful Thomas and Monde maybe need to try and be more helpful.
