Great place with lots of history. The food was great but the signs of the Covid void are visible. Nonetheless, it is quite remarkable how they have kept going, even without electricity over the last few years.
If you looking for a little bit of history in a beautiful intimate place you found it. By far one of the most historical places I've ever visited. Couldn't believe the world renowned people who have been here. There's currency notes of places I didn't even know exist. The host Wandi is the sweetest old man who tells the most beautiful stories. The food was authenticallly South African. Highly recommend for tourist and locals. Icing on the cake is being able to write your name on the wall amongst the many who have came and gone.

The food was good and plentiful. Post-covid, so it was kinda empty. Wandies is also about the ambience, so that wasn't there, but ought to be filling up soon once tourists return. Power problems in Soweto meant that only cash was accepted.
Food from this place always make me sick. It's the second time ordering from Wandies place, at first I got sick after eating the food and thought maybe it was something I must have ingested and had nothing to do with Wandies dish, however yesterday I bought their beef stew and now both me and my 2 year old have serious stomach pains. I am truly disappointed. I wont be buying from this place again
Great food, great service Parking: Plenty space
I've ordered via uber eats, the food came messed up. They did not rep anything knowing that it will be delivered with a scooter. It was like I've ordered from a hostel, even the hostel I better cause they'll give more meet. The mogodu was not cleaned. And for a R110 you can't give me 1 wing, 5cm wors and a small piece of stake. I'm not happy at all.
I ordered their mix braai for R110 an I was shocked when I received the order, inside it was just a tiny wors, wing an a bone which was suppose to be steak very disappointed tried to call the restaurant but the number did not work
