Woody Cape Nature Lodge

The new management is really working hard at turning this gem around. We had a fantastic weekend. Such a beautiful spot. Our kids had tons of fun exploring and playing on the dunes. The ablutions are nice and clean and so are the grounds. We will definitely go there again soon. Thanks to Jacques and Jonathan for you awesome hospitality. Such an awesome team.

Please do not use Woody Cape Nature Lodge in its current condition. It is ill prepared to offer safe & secure holiday/vacation experiences. There is no access control to the property and the sheer volume of foot traffic through the property is simply scary. I arrived, took one look and drove to alternative accommodation. The pool is empty and the buildings decrepit. The advertising on Google/Websites is simply false.

The new management went well out of their way to make us feel welcome. Thanks Jacques and Jonathan! We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to visit again soon. The place is beautiful, tranquil, rustic, and there is access to some of Africa’s unspoiled beaches. Highly recommended if you enjoy the simple things.Service: 5/5

Terrible experience An absolutely unorganised and filthy place, the toilets were blocked and not worthy of being used, the pools were green, there was no staff to be seen anywhere. The toilets facilities are far away from the campsites. There is only one toilet and shower for the entire campsite and dorm rooms. The place had an uncanny smell which was as a result of cow farms nearby. Would not recommend to anyone that would even make a mistake of going there. there are no disabled toilet/facilities. The place was basically a slum. The place does not look like the photos.

Long dirt road not ideal for small cars, accommodation was pretty expensive for what is offered. Beach and dunes are quite beautiful, bit there are other locations nearby with easier access to similar beauty Riet River for example. Wifi only on reception area, has power problems when raining we had power for 15 minutes during our stay, and no credit card machine take cash. Otherwise the staff was reasonably receptive and tried to accommodate for the inconveniences. Still it was a poor experience.

Lovely gem hidden away in nature. Recommend a car with a bit of ground clearance. I would not attempt this in a hatch but the gravel road leading to Woody was not at all bad; just a bit slippery when wet. Rustic cottages with the bare necessities. Amazing peace of secluded beach just over the first dune.

A beautiful spot for a peaceful get away. Lovely walks in the forest. But there are no maps, so it is best to ask at the office for all the various routes. The huts are well equipped and have everything that is needed.

Very cheap and a nice place with walking access to a beach. Not enough trees for camping and very dirty ablutions and not enough ablutions for amount of campers and chalets. Dishwashing area was dirty as hell with previous days dishes piled high. Flies everywhere due to surrounding cattle farms. Nice bar and cheap enough for overnight.

Definitely, hands down one of the most beautiful venues I have ever been to. 3minute walk to the most glorious view atop the tallest sand dune looking over onto a happy little island just off the beach. Sunsets can't be described in words here...

Awesome camping spot in a beautiful rainforest style terrain. Beautiful unpoilt beach with options for sandboarding. Also offers guided walks, horseriding and other activities. Food available in main building with a bar and 2 pools. Braai places in each accommodation options as well.
