Description

Lalibela Game Reserve and Safari Lodge is located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, close to Port Elizabeth and Addo, which means it is not only malaria free, but spans 5 ecosystems, resulting in a breath-taking diversity of flora and fauna.

Lalibela consists of 9,000 hectares (approximately 22,000 acres) and is home to the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo & leopard) as well as other predators like cheetah, hyena, jackal & lynx.

We are blessed with vast African plains and this is why we have multitudes of zebra, giraffe, warthog, impala, wildebeest, blesbuck and various other antelope species.

Only an hour away from Port Elizabeth and Addo, Lalibela is unique in the Eastern Cape in that we have no public roads running through our property.

This bucket list experience lived up to expectations! The staff at the lodge were so warm and friendly and very accommodating. No request was too much for them. As a picky eater, they facilitated me with a lovely dinner every night while providing the other guests with local food, which was always warmly received. There was always a great selection and catered for those who wanted gluten free/vegetarian options. The lodge itself is very warm and inviting, the pool area is gorgeous for spending an afternoon! Our lodge was absolutely perfect and immaculately clean, and we really valued the laundry service offered by the lodge. There is gorgeous scenery too. As for the game drives themselves, we couldn’t have been any luckier with our ranger Peter! He made us feel incredibly safe, had unbelievable knowledge of the area and was so generous with it. He did our best to tailor our drives to ensure we saw as much as possible, going on a different route every time. You could tell the respect he had for the animals too, which was very special to see. For anyone looking to go on a safari, we’d absolutely recommend going to Lentaba!
4.9 stars is too low. This was the experience of a lifetime. The reserve is stunning, the animals are great the baby cheetah's made my trip!, the rangers are extremely knowledgeable, and the attention to detail paid to your stay is actually the most impressive I may have ever seen in years of patronage at different tourism venues. My only regret is only staying 1 night!
During the times we find ourselves in, we looked forward to our stay at Lentaba, it did not disappoint, the protocols in place because of covid were comforting, the lodge is stunning, the rooms beautifully decorated, the food outstanding, the staff are like old friends and looked after our every need, then to the reason we were there, the animals, thanks to our Guide, Ruan Walker, we had unforgettable moments of awe. Thank you Lentaba for a wonderful stay can't wait to see you guys again.
From the moment we arrived at the entrance gate we knew this was a special place.Set in a beautiful reserve, the game drives were superb. Lizelle tracked and found some spectacular wildlife . We stayed at Marks Camp and the accommodation and food were excellent.We stayed in the family room with our friends and we had a super view from our balcony spotting rhino and elephant. Great stuff! We will be back !
Have just had the most wonderful 3 days with at Lentaba. The staff are very attentive and professional led by two excellent Lodge Mnagers, Jo & Jeanie. The ranger we had for all our drives was Liesel whose knowledege, patience & enthusiasm were quite superb.Rooms: 5/5
Amazing place. Spotlessly clean, staff can't do enough for you. Food is delicious. Game drives were fantastic. Shout out to Ryan who was our guide he made our experience a fabulous one
A specious lodge overlooking a waterhole in the upmarket Lalibela Game Reserve. The chalets are beautifully appointed and the attention to detail is noticeable. They are not fenced in, so the game, and that means all game, can roam freely. This fact hits home, when you see the spotted hyena paw prints in the concrete. Here all your needs are catered for and the meals on the sundrenched terrace are delightful. The staff is attentive and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
