good authentic sushi. love the smoked salmon cali rolls and flamed nigiri. good location and lovely owner
No, no, no. This place is awful. Smaller portions than other Yamakados, gross quality of food served, nowhere near as tasty as other branches.... A paper thin 3x3cm piece of burnt-to-a-crisp, oily chicken on their burger bao. Soup that resembles All Gold tomato sauce in taste and texture. Cold, tiiiiny, burnt yakitori. Uncomfortable chairs wooden boxes.... You sit on wooden boxes.... Staff all looked like they'd welcome death. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment - visit Yamakado in Fourways, cedar square, instead: They are absolutely flawless, with big, juicy, well presented portions. Staff who act like they WANT to live. Fast service. I wish I didn't waste my time or money coming here, I'm just sad and disappointed. 2nd star given because some of the sushi was okay. Just.... Okay. Judge for yourself if you'd pay R36 per plate for these tiny, crispy portions. Chopsticks for scale.
Bought Bao Buns on Mr Delivery and paid over R100 each ex delivery, the bun was nice but the rest below expectations and underwhelming , small piece of chicken, not crunchy, only a spoon full of cole slaw and next to no sause, not worth the cost unfortunately.

Nice looking establishment situated in the Centurion Lifestyle Centre. Conveyer belt system, priced using different coloured plates. On the sides are the seated table configurations. Menu has a good choice of individual items, platters, as well as hot foods. On the sushi specifics, I found the rice quite 'dense', and slightly more on the chewy side, something I needed to get used to. Salmon sashimi was fresh and had a creamy like texture. Wasabi was quite weak so you gotta be generous if you like that associated kick it usually provides. Udon noodles was quite disappointing as seafood was bland and overcooked.
If your looking for a healthier option to eat out. First trip to Yamakado and it was OK but the sushi is a rip off as they cut the fish so thin so that you're really only eating rice, guess it's cause it attracts the eat as much as you like crowds. Service was prompt and seems to have a vibe going on. A clean and fresh look to the decor. This little restaurant seems to be owner managed and they are on top of things but once again I think they are over priced and out to max thier profits. I can recommend the vibe but not the value . #lifeflow247
Never again. The sushi was average the meals ordered was worse. Chilli chicken was extremely salty. The chow mein was nothing to write home about. Overall a disappointing experience :Food: 1/5
Amazing service. They allowed us to substitute black plate with another black plate with the same value in the platter. No problems. 10/10 would recommend Food: 5/5
Conveniently located in the lifestyle Centre in Centurion, this is another "must -try" sushi venue that should be on your list. The sushi was fresh and well presented. You MUST try the roses. You'll have an option for the small version, but go for the big ones. It's a feast for the eyes and then for the mouth. They are huge. I've never seen that anywhere else. The seared salmon was a bit of a let down, but not the end of the world. As for atmosphere, I would have liked a bit more of an authentic experience, but then again, I have yet to find that anywhere as far as japanese and Chinese restaurants go. Overall a great experience with great fresh food. Definitely recommend.
Just ordered 8 pieces of sushi that cost R200 through mr delivery,first time ordering from them and thought it would be good for that price! Sadly the tiny pieces of prawn on top still had Veins in which is just gross and the filling was soggy! ...not very good value for that sort of low quality sushi!
