Yiayia's Kitchen Greenstone

Gorgeous little restaurant in Green Valley Shopping Centre. Authentic Greek food and the service is brilliant. We stayed a little past their closing time but there was no animosity from the staff for us sitting there enjoying a birthday. The waitress / cashier was on point with reading the crowd and knew we were a group who enjoyed a good joke. She was nice enough to talk to us about the food we were ordering and went out of her way to explain what we getting if we weren't sure of the dish. Vegetarian options: There are plenty vegetarian options on the menu that aren't just a green salad. There's a lot of variety.

What a wonderful experience! Such an unassuming, quaint little place. The service was excellent, Helen was a star! And the food was absolutely fantastic, perfectly tender and fresh. Great, authentic Greek cuisine, at reasonable prices. Definitely worth the visit!

My wife and I have been coming to yiayias for years and really have enjoyed it. On Wednesday 26 April 2023 we decided to go out for dinner. We both chose to go to yiayias on arrival we found out that our usual happy to see us friendly manager Hellen was not on duty we were going to be served by another manager. We walked in and greeted the manager who was so rude towards us and basically looked down on us like we were dirt. This is not the way we have been treated in the past. My wife and I decided we not going to stay at yiayia and would rather go to the fish shop next to checkers. Really poor service from the tall white lady behind the counter. If Hellen is not working we won't be back. Yiayias is just not the same without her bubbly personality

Seeting outside, hard cold chairs, outside only on the walkways. Fine for weekday lunches. Definitely not Sunday family lunches

This was an amazing experience I'm quite sad that I have not come to this beautiful restaurant sooner as I have been passed Yia Yia's so many times that I could have probably had everything on the menu thuse it was not ment to be. I am grateful to have finally enjoyed this amazing place with amazing food and drink's and one of the most epic cheese cake I have ever had thank you to staff and kitchen for this wonderful place, food and service you are a hidden gem thank you.

Black like charcoal, Burnt-to-a-crisp bifteki, 90% raw mince in the pastitsio inedible basically ordered chicken souvlaki but what was sent was tough-as-rubber lamb souvlaki. Never again. I can't recall having a worse meal and I am not one to complain but this was absolutely terrible.

We have not been there for a while. The menu has changed a bit, for the better. The food was good, fresh, hot and well prepared. Lamb souvlaki tender and juicy. Well run business with a limited staff.

The best damn gyro’s I have ever eaten, super light and fresh, meat was tender. This is going to be my go to place every time I visit Jhb. Thanks to the staff too.
