Recommended by most doctors and midwives, prenatal yoga offers a multitude of benefits to both mother and baby throughout pregnancy, during birth and beyond:

Joint exercises - perfect for poor circulation, swelling/water retention and excellent to improve mobility. Also enhances squatting and other birthing positions.

Gentle Stretching - maintains supple and toned muscles.

Breathing – balances the autonomic nervous system which regulates the major systems of the body and controls hormonal secretions. Deep breathing increases the intake of oxygen to both mother and baby. ‘Birthing breaths’ aid in the preparation for a calm birthing.

Yoga Nidra - Blood pressure is also lowered and during this relaxation technique and one gains the equivalent of 4 hours deep sleep. Yoga Nidra also promotes inner communication with your child and assists in releasing any impressions associated with the fear of birthing.

In addition, by developing a deeper awareness of your body, a powerful connection between a mother and her child is established.

Yoga Mom is wonderful. I did all the classes online because I stay in Pta and I loved it. The yoga itself was extremely calming and exactly what I needed in my pregnancy. It helped with my mood, mental strength and back pain. Tara is an amazing instructor and understands the process. Definitely recommend them I'll be back with my next pregnancy.
Tara and her team are incredible and passionate. The yoga classes made such a difference for my energy, patience and just dealing with the tough days better. A safe space to come and just be. Tara is definitely someone you want on your team when pregnant. The information she shared before going into hospital was invaluable and gave us the confidence to make certain decisions even when against the “norm”. For which we are so grateful. And post pregnancy, she is the magic you need to just know you are doing great and to check in on baby. If you are blessed enough to go through a pregnancy with all the craziness that goes with it, you should do yourself a favor and get in touch with Yoga Mama.
I started off in the yoga mama studio just planning to do prenatal yoga as exercise. However, not only did I receive Great yoga classes that helped make my pregnancy easier I was also welcomed into one of the most positive and supportive environments where I learnt so many things through all the various classes offered. I had the most amazing experience and would definitely recommend yoga mama to every pregnant woman I know!!!
In 100% recommend Tara. She is quick to respond, which was just perfect, because breastfeeding issues are time sensitive. Her advice and tips have been so helpful, both when she came to my house for a consult and via Whatzapp. Thank you for your help, Tara!
Amazing! As a first time mom, the entire journey from pregnancy to birth to parenthood has been a daunting and overwhelming one. I am, therefore, so grateful I came across Yoga Mama. Yoga Mama, owned and runned by Tara, is truly a place of love, support and care, as noted on the website. The yoga classes were well designed for all stages of my pregnancy. Both Tara and Thando are polite, thoughtful and patient with all the moms. After each class my body felt amazing and I just felt calmer and more connected to my baby. Throughout the past 6 months Tara has been by my side every step of the way. She is always available and is incredibly knowledgeable on all things baby. In addition, she provides me with mental support and strenght when navigating through those stromy days. Tara has simply been an invaluable pillar throughout this entire journey. I highly recommend Yoga Mama.
What a safe space I found in the Yoga Mama prenatal classes! A place where love flowed from my heart to my baby! I learnt how to stretch out my body in a way that's comfortable, safe and so liberating! I left every session invigorated and ready to take on the new week. I attended classes right up until I was 40 weeks and 2 days with the amazing Tara and Thando changing the various stretches to suit me. Tara offered amazing insights into natural births and various stretches that can be used to assist the process but moms, who were opting for c-sections could also attend classes to stretch out the aches and pains associated with carrying a little one. Sessions with Yoga Mama was definitely a happy place for me and you get an opportunity to form a mini community with the other beautiful pregnant Yoga Mamas that you meet during class. I will definitely be going back in future!
Tara has been a good coach and yoga instructor during my postnatal journey. The guidance, coaching and yoga sessions have been invaluable for this major life transition.
Tara and her team have been absolutely amazing during my pregnancy and also post natal. She is offering great packages including yoga pre natal, post natal, with baby, but also doula services, lactation consultant...and many more. I can't thank her enough for how powerful and great she made me feel, she is gentle, professional, and I highly recommend her services!
I just wished I had joined sooner hey. Tara and Thando are amazing. I’d sometimes be so tired to join but would feel so happy that I did because they’d focus on my problem areas and even when my energy was low. My first pregnancy and I had gained 20+ more than my usual and I felt heavy and always tired till joining Yoga mama
It was truly a GOD connection and moment of destiny meeting Tara Williams - the amazing yogamama herself - last year while trusting for our first baby. It was an incredible time which started with fertility yoga … a few months before getting that “BFP” - of learning so much about my body, truly understanding pausing and patience, the power of prayer - all coupled with the beauty of real and relevant movement through yoga ‍ Thank you Tara, for your beautiful light - empathy, advice and exceptional duty of care. I’ve long wanted to “get into yoga” - but working with you made me realize its waaaaay more than yoga pants and a fancy mat. Takes dedication and a special touch, which you possess and bring to every session and class. Still working with you, postpartum and with my lovely baby boy has been a blessing!
