1587 Restaurant

Never a disappointing meal! My husband and I have made this our go-to place for our anniversary. The seafood is my recommendation. It's always cooked to perfection and so artistically arranged. It's a true delight to the senses with flavor, fragrance, and visual appeal. The staff is always friendly and on point with excellent service also.

My now husband made a reservation here for the night he proposed and he couldn't have picked a better restaurant. The food was amazing, which is always a struggle since I can't have any dairy, but they were very accommodating. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, and I recommend when making a reservation to be sure to ask for a table on the water.

A classy but unpretentious restaurant with courteous and very efficient service. Each dish was a 4 or 5. Grilled tuna was 2" thick and the best I've had. Salmon special was excellent. Seafood oriented but also other protein and vegetarian option. Chef is creative but not contrived. Kids and adults all cleared our plates. $140 including 20% tip for 3 entrees, 3 apps, 1 kid meal, no booze. Not for every day dining but definitely a value for the quality and experience and worth a drive over from OBX. Thanks to Megan at 1587. Note: the restaurant is inside the Tranquil House Inn and is not signed separately. Don't do the goofy "geocache look around" like I did, just go in the front or back of the Inn.
