Alamance County Social Services and Health Department

My experience with Alamance County Social Service Dept. has been a bad experience. I don't get any return phone calls until I have to harass them or call the supervisor, workers claim they did not receive the paperwork and front desk people see you waiting an act as if they do not want to help you. SMH...this place needs to be torn down and start fresh with more experienced people and people who really likes dealing with the public and be more organized and honest. I gave one star because it was nothing less to rate them :(

Had an app in for medical assistance since summer of 2016. Applied to SS is February for rx help. They gave me the number to the Dept of Insurance and another number to call at DSS. Cannot believe how lousy the service is in NC. Is Medicaid still governed by the USDA? Might give them a heads up.

The system there fails our mothers, and our children. Its sad and pitiful how things are ran up there. When a actual single mom that works full-time, take care of her child by herself its like the system is set up to try and knock her down. A mother's cry for help doesn't mean nothing to them can't receive help with food because they claim I make to much, now daycare is about to go up so that 120 a month me and my daughter eats off of that higher amount in childcare will take away from that 120. All they do on a check stub is look at the gross income that's not what you bring home. Sorry deadbeat dads get to roam around getting to do nothing. Funny how if someone is selling illegal substances they can catch them in a day but for a sorry dad they're like do you know where he lives, do you have his social.........THATS WHAT WE CAME TO YALL TO DO........

I gave them one star, because I can't give them a 0. The employees are lazy, employees don't get paper work done, when you have to go back up there more then what your suppose to, because they didn't do their job in the first place, the workers give attitudes, mothers and children are having to go without what they need. Due to the employees not wanting to do their jobs. Alamance social services is a horrible department.

This office is horrible! All you do is call and keep calling, never get anywhere. Case workers don't call back. They are suppose to have a 48 hour window however, they never call. Bills are now in collections because case worker said they would retro any bills for the last three months. I physically handed them in yet nothing has been done about it. Any suggestions on who to contact??? I've already left a voice message for the director.
