I don't normally review car rentals, because everyone knows that renting cars is a purgatorial experience. I've tried most of the brands, and have never spent less than 30 minutes in line, plus 10 at the counter filling out papers straining to hear the worker. Naturally, I have no brand loyalty, as they are all equally bad, but I have never before tried Alamo because this is silly but true, I dislike deserts. This time, though, they happened to have the best price, so, whatever, I made my reservation. I was particularly dreading my experience this week, because I had a weird situation. The reservation was in my wife's name, but she got sick at the last minute and I renewed my expired driving license that very morning. I figured this would add another 20 minutes to my "rental experience", easy. There was no line at all, and two people manning the counter -- this alone was an unthinkable dream. The man at the desk, whose name I have written down as "Calvin" and I hope that is right because he deserves credit, handled all my issues with aplomb. The newly renewed license did mean he had to talk with a manager, but even this took only a couple of minutes. He was personally friendly, charming, and attentive, noticing that I had kids and thoughtfully asking whether I needed an extra car seat no, but only by a matter of days under New Jersey law. And then we loved our car! It'll take a couple more good experiences before this turns into anything as permanent as brand loyalty, but I know that, for my next trip, Alamo will be my first choice! Streamline. Airport shuttle to the car rental place with no hassle. Our driver was friendly, the person who checked us in was so sweet, and the gentleman Calvin who showed us to our vehicle was hilarious! It was fun listening to the dynamic of the staff while checking in. You can tell this is a positive environment for both staff and patrons alike. Not to mention the vehicle was spotless. Thanks staff! You guys rock!
This was one of the best rental car experiences I've had. Finally one where you can truly skip the counter and go straight to the car! Which makes a late/delayed flight not as bad as it could have been! Will definitely be using Alamo in future for my first option when it comes to rentals. Also the bus driver was FANTASTIC!
Excellent customer service and friendly interactions. The staff went above and beyond to assist in helping us pick the right vehicle. The only drawback to the location was that you cannot drive onto the lot in your personal car to pick up/ drop-off for those that are not flying. There is however a shuttle and from the airport for anyone flying. Overall experience was excellent!
I rented from Alamo 12/22-12/29/22. The experience was a good one despite a couple of cosmetic and mechanical issues that I experienced with two different cars. Car 1 had tears in the back seat that I noticed before I left the lot, car 2’s driver side seat belt did not work. Car 3 had no issues although I had to go to two different lots to pick it up due to a computer issues and availability issues. Alamo upgraded me at no extra cost. Ki, Samantha and Mr. McNutty, the General Manager, at Alamo Philadelphia International Airport were all courteous and professional. I’m giving 4 stars because the Alamo system that the airport uses is different from other agencies. I was sent to one agency in Philadelphia to exchange car 2 for another one under the direction of the customer service representative at the 1-800 number. However, this branch was not able to complete the exchange because the airport rental accounts are on a different system than other agencies. So, I wasted a lot of time trying to get the issue solved. Other than that it would be a 5 because of the staff and how quickly they resolved my issues upon my arrival.
The customer service at this specific location is outstanding. Ashley is very professional and has great customer service!! She’s a star employee to have on your team. We had a bit of an issue with some of the rental requirements and she handled it with compassion & kindness! She helped us come up with a solution and we were on our way to a great family vacation! I absolutely love my experience at Alamo Car Rentals. Every time I go in to rent a car in Philadelphia it's fast and easy no hassle. The customer service reps are pleasant and efficient. I don't rent cars from no other company. Thank you Alamo for great service
We had a rental from New York and experienced an issue with the vehicle. We went out of our way to swap the vehicle and the staff were terrible. It was the enterprise staff at the airport Friday evening around 9pm who swapped us out. We waited in line and were told to leave the line to follow a member of staff. We ran around after him with 4 suitcases up and down the car park, until he shouted at another member of staff and took us back to the rental office. We then were told to wait for the ‘switch out associate’ I used to work at Enterprise and know that any staff member could do a switch out as it is easier than writing a contract. We waited for 20 minutes, and it seemed like they were more interested in serving new customers. After all customers in the line had been served, we were still waiting and the staff behind the counter left us waiting, talking between themselves. One of the staff was even dancing around the office as we waited which is extremely unprofessional. The staff member who did serve us walked around really slowly with no sense of urgency for customers waiting. We were then swapped out into a car class less than our own no apology for a broken vehicle, our wait, or being put into a lower vehicle class. The vehicle we were switched into had not been cleaned properly as we could still see a marker on the window which said the vehicle had an issue with the battery and should not be switched off! Do not use Alamo or Enterprise at this location as they put a shame on the good customer service you usually expect with this brand. Totally unprofessional service.
Philadelphia Alamo was absolutely outstanding. I cannot say enough good things. Went to the counter - immediately greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable associate who was actually indicating that they were happy for my business. An associate took me to the car and allowed me to choose. I've gone to Budget and I'm done with them! No cars available. Attendants on cell phones. Car broke down had do drive 38 miles. Alamo was nothing like that. I WILL BE BACK! I frequently travel to Phila airport for business. This is my vendor now!!!!!
The crew at Philadelphia International Airport was great! Check out and Check in was a breeze. The Jeep was spotless , all the options for vehicle coverage were given, LOVE the EZPASS cheaper than most other companies and just showed they cared about Customer Service. Happy to be an Alamo Insider.
