Carol and Edward could have easily turned me away and went about their evening but they didn’t. They found a solution to a problem and with their mutual kindness, patience and consideration; got me into a vehicle within 30 minutes of me entering the building. An upgraded car to boot. After a long day of traveling I am honestly so thankful for them. Consider my faith in humanity restored. Aside from the phenomenal staff, Dollar Rent A Car itself offered by far the best deal on a rental car. Highly recommend. Bus pickup was clearly marked outside of baggage claim. I’d say we waited about 20 minutes for pick up. Transport time to facility was quick.
The bus experience was okay. But when we arrived to the Dollar Office they took a long time to attend us. The lady was so obstinate. It’s my 2nd time in there but this was definitely different.-.
First time renting with Dollar and was impressed especially based on the reviews. I had a very pleasant experience. Carol, at the PHL Airport location, was super helpful and friendly when I checked in to get my car. I initially reserved an economy car, but they were out so she upgraded me. It was easy to return my car, just leave the keys inside and go! They have a shuttle to and from the airport which was very helpful! I would rent with them again!
With Dollar Rental Car Company I had the worst experience ever had in my life, their stuffs even didn't accept my documents of my country, even though I rented cars more than in 25 countries of the world with the same documents before, I think that happened because I was not American, and they exactly said that even in my national document I had to write my first name in English. Because of the worst personal of Dollar Rental Car company with my family two kids, 5 years and 8 years until the morning we had been sleeping outside. Khumoyun Akhmadjonov
I had my car switched upgraded last minute because the clerk almost gave me a car in the “broken” lot. I’m not even mad about being delayed, I’m happy they caught it before I left. When I brought the car back I told Torieka that I was stressed because there was a chip in the windshield and a dent in the door i took before pics to show her they were already there but I didn’t sign a contract stating the previous damage since the car was switched last minute. She was incredibly helpful and kind! For a budget car rental I would definitely recommend!
DO NOT BOOK WITH DOLLAR. EVER. They will steal your money. I booked a five day rental with dollar because they had the best price I could find anywhere online. They told me when I booked that my estimated total would be $428 for their lowest quality car with zero add-ons or insurance. It was a little high but better than other companies so I booked it. At the end of my trip, they ended up charging my bank account for $750! The explanations for this price were so complicated and silly that no one will work with me to resolve the issue or refund me for whatever it is they overcharged me for. The price was absolutely ridiculous for only a 5 day rental. I hope no one ever books with this company. They are dirty and they are crooks in every way imaginable.
I was charged $150 cleaning fee for dog fur even after I used my lint roller to clean it before giving it back to them. The small amount of dog fur found was definitely not worth $150 of cleaning! We only used the car for 5 hours too, so it’s crazy that they’re giving us this kind of penalty. It’s not like we had the car for days. They should be called “Dollars,” not “Dollar.”
I rented a vehicle from Dollar in Philadelphia airport. I was offered the PlatePass option, but I was not planning to travel many toll roads so declined. The agent made no comment or indication that using the transponder would activate the PlatePass All-inclusive Tolling. I assumed it would charge me only for tolls incurred during my rental period, for which I would gladly reimburse Dollar. One might say that is a SERVICE that ought to be provided - and if it were, I would actually have greatly appreciated that and would give them my business again. Instead, they hit me with an insincere and quite frankly greedy attempt to solicit extra funds from unsuspecting customers. For a few dollars in toll roads, they are collecting $82. They also charged me over $100 for an infant car seat that probably cost that much retail. It was a piece of junk and genuinely scared us to put our child in it. This company will nickel and dime you to a significant degree. Can't anything in this country just be a pleasant business transaction that you don't get surprisingly billed for weeks later? Dollar, enjoy my ill-gotten dollars, you'll never be getting another one from me.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! For starters when I arrived to pick up my vehicle the staff had an altercation where they cussed eachother out as they decided which car to give me. Then they charged me for gas when I filled the car up with gas before I dropped it off. I provided a receipt and then they said I needed to provide a bank statement. I jumped through their hoops and they over refunded me for the gas.. I then get a random bill in the mail for 50 dollars. Instead of admitting a mistake they claimed I hadn’t paid my bill in full. Still fighting to make this situation right and they don’t care. They are dishonest and will do anything to take your money. I will never rent with them again and will make it my business to save others the trouble! I am so glad I had receipts and bank statements or they would’ve stole over 100 dollars from me. You are better off walking.
There were 60 ppl waiting in line and only 2 front desk workers. The shuttle bus driver did not stop TWICE. We're forced to stand outside in a 97°F heat index. I couldn't cancel my reservation since I've been standing here in line for nearly ONE HOUR and the cancellation time passed. THIS IS HORRIBLE. There were senior citizens waiting OUTSIDE in the heat. I will NEVER rent from this Dollars & Thrifty AGAIN. Your 2 frontline workers who clear the reservations NEED help. They look stressed. The manager looks STRESSED. They need to be compensated to deal with stressful travelers like me. Where are the other 3 who were supposed to man the desk?
