I really enjoyed dinner here. The ceiling is lined with old doors, most likely to fashionably dampen noise though it was still pretty loud. Not a big deal. The server was attentive and easy to talk to. We happened to come during Des Moines restaurant week so Alba was offering a 3 course meal. The drinks and food were made with great care. The impeccable food was marked with a touch of fancy. The dishes are beautiful, almost too beautiful to eat. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic Experience! They have a chef’s table opportunity where you can sit with a party of four and have a AMAZING meal. That’s what we did as a holiday treat, and it was unbelievable. The chef here is fantastic. Garret, the front of house guy, is charming. 100% recommend.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
My favorite restaurant! Food is always cooked perfectly and they have a menu that constantly changes with new exciting options. Their unique sauces and sides really make your entree special. Staff is always warm and helpful. The art and doors that hang on the ceiling along with the large windows are wonderful! Can't wait to go back!
Don’t wait for a special occasion! The service and menu is incredible. Tonight was gnocchi and seabass. When we want fine dining in the East Village- Alba is our choice!
Good food, decent ambiance and excellent service. We enjoyed our dessert the most, a perfect molten chocolate cake with buttermilk ice cream and will just go back for that..it was that good.Dine in: Yes
While I wish they had a dedicated vegan option, this is the best "the chef will make you something vegan" I have ever had. Great service and delicious food. The location was also unique and stylish.
Fantastic food, drinks, and good service. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Des Moines we have been to. We really enjoyed the pork confit, the gnocchi with chicken confit, deviled eggs, and salad. Cocktails were great as well.Dine in: Yes
We noted a couple things from our visit at the end of May 2022. 1; the pile of boxes behind the bar where they sat us, and 2; the lack of a server although labor issues seem to be a problem everywhere these days. When the food finally came it was the wrong order. Given the time it took them to bring it, we accepted as is. To be fair, the quality of what we did get was very good. Hopefully they can find a better place to store the boxes, but would love to see them again once all the labor and supply issues get better.
Delicious meal and great atmosphere. It was a perfect setting for a romantic date night. The steak I had was perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the Gnocchi and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend this restaurant - amazing food and exceptional experience. Thank you for the great evening.
Great corner location in the East Village, eclectic feel both aesthetically and with the menu. Although the menu is small, we've been pleased with the abundance of flavor that the dishes offer. Most recently, we were here for restaurant week, which we've enjoyed int he past, as well. The creative dishes are interesting and make this restaurant one that remains a favorite.
