I lived here for 15 months in the Manor and would absolutely never again. There is ZERO ability to communicate with management, and it seemed like the only time they communicated with the tenants was to point fingers. Multiple times there were power outages which made the key fob locks stop working and we were never told. The only way to know why your key fob wasn’t working was to go down to the office and hope someone was there. Multiple times I had issues and never got a response. The package room see picture was a disaster. There were hundreds of packages outside of lockers that you would have to sort through to try to find yours, hoping it wasn’t taken. I had a $150 pair of Birkenstocks get taken and when I asked if there were cameras I was told they weren’t working. Fire alarms were another major issue. They would go off at least weekly, many times multiple days in a row for 15 minutes at a time at all times of day. My dog was terrified of them and it stressed him out terribly. The trash was another major issue, it’s everywhere. It’s clear they were under staffed and were trying to keep it under control, but with so many apartments it just got too much and was constantly all over the grounds. Parking was difficult, but again that’s not managements fault. The lots are poorly designed and people create their own parking spots which makes it even worse. The violence was unfortunate. Multiple instances occurred while I lived here, including a shooting in the parking garage. After that happened there was biohazard bodily fluids all over, and it stayed there for a while. The garage was never properly cleaned. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is for the amenities. The indoor pool was always so nice to have. The gym is a good size and has nice equipment. Outdoor pool chairs could use some help, but again nice to have in the city. Overall, I would avoid living here if you can.
This apartment complex is very lovely and affordable too! Perfect for people who love a great nature’s view. The lobby is very relaxing with calm music playing in the background and free coffee, and the inside of the apartments are luxurious. It’s a very safe and quiet neighborhood. The amenities are great! They include an indoor pool which looks just like the pictures!, jacuzzi, an outdoor pool, tennis court, several gyms, a yoga studio, and much more! The community is very strong as well. I had a tour with Aisaiah and I was very very impressed! He was very friendly and he knew everyone in the community by name. He gave a very thorough tour and made us feel so welcomed. He needs a raise like, now! This is the best apartment tour we’ve ever been on and we’ve been on a lot of tours. I can’t wait to make Alden Park my new home!
What I love about Alden Park is the amenities, all the nature that surrounds the property, and the spacious apartments. I do wish the cleanliness of the buildings was more consistent. It feels like they don’t have enough people to keep the amenities space, common spaces, and hallways clean. The gym is pretty dusty and not refilled with wipes frequently enough. Someone also needs to clean the hand sanitizer dispenser in the gym which has brown crud growing on it. I also feel like the new guards on the property could be unprofessional and cat call. My roommate and I who are women have been asked for our number by the guards which is really inappropriate not to mention one of my guest whose preferred pronouns are they/them/their was called a queen and other she/her pronouns while visiting my apartment. I shouldn’t feel like I am going to be cat called or harassed by the people who are here to keep this environment safe. The worker Steve who cleans the building is very nice! Overall I love living here but I do feel like there is room for improvement as it relates to maintaining the building and the professionalism of certain staff.
My son needs a studio apartment for last year of graduate school. He searched various places in the city and found Alden Park to be the best fit. Apartment is clean, good light, with modern kitchen. The grounds are beautiful. Serene from the leasing office has been very helpful in guiding the process for application and provides excellent communication as he approaches an expedited move in date.
Big complex with lots of charm. A bit older so it might have some quirks but also has lots of history. We made an appointment online to view and Serene showed me around. I asked a couple walking their dog what they thought about living there and they had really positive things to say. Just a heads up, they manage a LOT of apartments and there are some extra fees and steps to take then other places. The indoor pool is really impressive!
When we happened upon Alden Park we were already exhausted from months of touring various underwhelming condos & apartments. Aisaiah has proven to be a blessing in our search for a new apartment home. His professionalism, attention to the most intricate details and knowledge about Alden Park truly inspired us to want to live here. The buildings, the grounds and the amenities are top-notch.
Apartment was perfect size for my daughter to move into as her first apartment. The agent was very friendly and knowledgeable about the apartments. Gave us a great tour with lots of different options. Beautiful pool and plenty of outdoor space.
This is a review based on my touring experience. It was easy to schedule an appointment online, but it was difficult to get someone on the phone. I initially got lost trying to find the leasing department. I also had difficulty actually getting into the leasing building but I spoke to a resident who was very kind and gave me directions to the leasing office. It seems to be a very secure place. Had a great experience with AISAIAH. I did have to wait a few minutes prior to starting the tour. He was friendly and the amenities look as they appear of their website. The residents seem to really like living here. I was not able to hear noise from resident apartments as we were walking through the halls.
With a more responsive management team, this would be a very nice apartment complex. However there is absolutely no urgency as it comes to maintenance requests or ensuring the happiness of current residents. My current grievance and reason for leaving this review is lack of urgency as to heating concerns in the dead of winter. On the morning of January 6, 2023, I reported that my heat had gone out in the living room. Given it was a Friday, I was not happy but understood when I received no response for a few days. Having heard nothing over the weekend, I sent an email to both maintenance contacts on Monday morning, informing them that the kitchen heater had also gone out, likely because it was carrying the weight for the living room heater over the weekend. Maintenance did not respond to this email until the late afternoon of Wednesday, January 11, 2023, asking if anyone had been by to fix the issue. When I said no in an email later that night, maintenance finally arrived on Thursday, January 12, 2023. They performed some form of manual override and got the heat working but informed me that it may not be a permanent fix so I should reach out if it stops working again. As predicted the heat stopped working again so I reported this the morning of January 13, 2023. Despite maintenance claiming they would be up later in the day, they never showed up. After radio silence in response to several more emails, I called the office on January 15, 2023 and left an emergency maintenance message. To the office's credit they must have forwarded the message along quickly because I received a call within minutes. However the individual I spoke with reported they would not be fixing my heat until Tuesday January 17, 2023, because of the holiday weekend. When I asked why an emergency such as no heat was being ignored until the weekend was over, maintenance reports that no heat is only an emergency when it's in the bedroom. A completely arbitrary requirement being as the heat in one room can obviously affect the other rooms. The moral of the story, don't live here if you expect any support in the event of an emergency, it may not line up with management's definition of an emergency.
I'm very excited to move in! The amenities are amazing for the price point, and the park nearby is a huge plus. It has been an easy process applying and signing the lease so far. They have been communicative and ready to help.
