Apollo Family Restaurant

Waitress' were busy, and still was better than the cooks. I watch 3 set of people get their food that came in after we placed our order. Then it was one plate and 3 minutes later the rest of our food. Then I received tiny bits instead of home fries. And to finish up our visit somehow someone walked by and dropped cr@p on the floor.

We just moved to the area and looked up this restaurant on a Sunday morning around 10:30 for breakfast. I called to place an order for carry out. I was told by the person on the phone they were to busy to take my order. After I got over the shock of that statement I decided to give them another try. A couple weeks later on a Sunday morning at about 10:30 am we went in for dine in. It was a bit busy and there were about three empty tables not yet cleared . We stood at the door for about 5 minutes , no eye contact or greeting. We were told by a customer that it was seat yourself. I got to say I have not been to a restaurant that filthy in a long time. The very young lady that waited on us was so apologetic and obviously extremely over worked. (Understaffed) Apollo Beach is in desperate need of a good breakfast restaurant.

Service was good. Food was tasty. I had a western omelet that I expected to be a bit more full of ingredients but still tasty. Homefries, biscuit and gravy plus grits for sides. Paid extra for grits and gravy for my biscuit. Add coffee.. $11.22 total.. value? Decide for yourself. Card machine was down so carry cash in.

Poorly trained or inexperienced wait staff. i.e. Our waitress cruises by and asks “do you need a little more time?” We reply “NO” - she drifts away! When we finally order (standard menu items) two other tables who ordered after us get their food before we do. My order was way over-cooked. Waitress never returned to check on us until we waved for our check.

Nice small place for breakfast and lunch. Good service. Good variety. Could use a new carpet.
