Very friendly owner, very serious about giving you a good deal for what you get. The store itself is a little hard to find, as it's tucked into the back corner of a small patio area, but it's worth a trip. Could stand to have a bit more options for drumheads.

After suffering a career-ending back injury in 2002, I sold my Yamaha Recording Customs, Gretsch touring kit, Slingerland gigging kit, and my 2 teaching kits, because I thought I'd never be able to play again. After 15 years of rehab, my right foot works again! So I thought I'd buy another drum kit and see how things went. But I didn't want a student-model or sub-pro kit. A pro friend of mine suggested a Mapex Saturn. I found one in a color the wife liked, but nobody seemed to have them as that color was out of production. Then I found 2 on eBay from Arizona Drum Shop at an unbelievable price! I called Ron, explained my situation, and asked him how we should proceed. He was VERY professional, made great suggestions, and went out of his way to research things neither one of us knew. Ron also helped me put together an AWESOME-SOUNDING set of Sabian HH and custom Artisan cymbals that are absolutely killer! I live 1,502 miles from Ron, but if I'm ever in Scottsdale, I'll stop by to thank him personally for his friendly and professional help building a fantastic drum kit! (That the Mrs. says "looks like furniture" so she let me set it up in the front living room .. :)

Didn't care for the place. I walked in with cash to buy and there was nothing in stock. The guy at the desk looked as if he had just got up and slept in his clothes. Didn't seen to take me seriously at all. Went to Sweetwater and bought the DWs I wanted from a professional sales person who had them in stock. I have no use for such a place.

Not too long ago I stopped in to look for an upgrade to a cheaper cymbal I was using. Ron took the time to find several to try and was patient enough when I brought my cymbal setup in several times to get a perfect. I found an Impression ride that was exactly what I was looking for. And a new favorite cymbal company as well. The products are top notch at this store and the service goes beyond that.If I need anything else I will buy it here. This kind of small store will always be better than any major retailer. And even before I found Arizona Drum Shop I was done with Guitar Center which in my opinion has done nothing but gone downhill. Thanks for providing this opportunity to everyone who loves percussion. I'll be back.
