I decided to stay in the Smoky Mountain room which had a steam shower.... turns out to be an excellent decision! I visited Northwest Indiana for a funeral last minute. I am originally from Valparaiso and when I go back home to visit I stay at the Inn at Aberdeen... However they closed their doors permanently 2 weeks ago which turned out to be an absolute blessing because I found a treasure At Home in the Woods had been hiding all of my life!! Scott and Vicky provided me with every amenity imaginable and made me feel fabulous! From the steam shower to the dry sauna to the hot tub set at 102 degrees to the wonderful 3 course breakfasts they prepared for me and the baked goods set out for me every evening! I have stayed all over the world and I absolutely could not have been more comfortable than I was there last weekend.... Don't forget about the abundance of birds on the feeders outside your many windows and the beautifully groomed walking trail in the back on many acres. Thank you again for the memories of one of the most relaxing 4 nights in all of my 46 years! God Bless you and your family!!

We are forever grateful to have found Victoria & Scott's place.Together they made our wedding day unbelievably carefree. The rooms, the food & all that they did for us (from making the cake, the food & the 'late-night' pizzas to hiring the minister & making (or ordering) the flower arrangements simply can't be beat.
As a bride who is down-to-earth & loves nature, I couldn't have asked for more.
Our wedding was scheduled around my stepkids spring break, or we'd have had a fall wedding.
Both my husband & I still want to get back to "At Home in the Woods" in either late spring, fall, or in the middle of winter to enjoy the views @ a different time of year.
We haven't made it back there yet...But we will soon... Hopefully VERY soon!

We have been staying with Scott and Victoria for years and At Home in the Woods is out home away from home! Clean rooms, great prices, and the food is truly remarkable. The rooms are inspired by the keepers travels around the country and offer for that reflects an individual national park. AHITW offers a welcoming sitting area that offers a place to relax and unwind or a chance to converse with the other guests. I cannot say enough about this place!
