Booked a rental reservation over a month in advance and the store emailed me at 8pm the night before pick up to say they had no more inventory. Less than 24 hours notification! They then tried to send me on a wild goose chase to another Avis location which I called ahead only to find out they didn't have the size vehicle we needed. NOW to top it off they're not reimbursing us the difference of what we paid to a 2nd rental company despite promising to do so. I have never dealt with this from any other rental company. Avoid if at all possible.
I'm not sure if the gentleman was the owner or if he was the manager however he was training his associates while helping me and he was very well mannered and very attentive. It is surprised me at how polite he was he was able to get me switched out of my car and into a new car after driving 192 miles from a different Budget Rent a Car location. I wish I lived in Charlotte because that would be my go to rental facility
We called and were told I could be added to the rental agreement as a driver. The company website says spouses can be added at no charge. The rep at this location said he couldn't add me without charging $13/day. ‍ no help whatsoever. Will not be renting from Avis again.
Made a reservation for 1pm. Got there at 1:01pm and they locked their doors and refused to wait on us. The employee was very rude.
Great customer service, good selection and fair pricing. I was saved by this site from a horrible experience at another. Customer service was speedy and patient with getting my vehicle situated and me out the door.
Wish I could give 0 stars because I didn't even get a chance to leave with the car I "Rented"... I booked my reservation online 3 days in advanced and prepaid. I received my confirmation shortly and thought I was all set. Pick-up day comes and I drive 30 minutes on my lunch break to get the car and what do you know, no cars available... What? No cars? If this was the case why did you take my money upfront and waited to inform me when I got there... A phone call at the least would have been a nice conciliation. This is my first time trying AVIS/Budget and it certainly will be the last. Do not recommend. I would spend my money and time elsewhere.
Received a letter from this location stating I owed $450 cleaning fee due to returning a rental car with "excessive interior dirt". Problem is - I've never rented a car from Avis in North Carolina! Called customer service several times; they referred me to the actual location. Called the actual location, placed on hold several times and the woman had no idea what to do and referred me back to the 800 Avis number. Called the 800 number again, said a supervisor So now, they are renting to people without checking IDs or credit cards? Now I have no idea how to get Avis to respond to me.
This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had. First of all, there was no information on the website or in my confirmation email about being unable to leave my personal vehicle on the premises, so I was in quite a predicament when I came to pick up the rental thinking I could leave my car there. The office is dingy and understaffed. I tried to call the office no less than 10 times over the course of 2 days. The hours of this location are limiting so I wanted to ask about after-hours drop off. NO one ever answered the phone - I was consistently dropped in some kind of hold loop and I never spoke with anyone. I didn't want to risk dropping it off after hours since I wasn't able to get approval, so I arrived the next morning promptly at 8 AM when the store is supposed to open. I waited for 5 minutes, knocked repeatedly on the door - no one responded. Well...I was unable to leave my own car there, so naturally I had to arrange a ride with someone to bring me home after the return. We have jobs. We need to be on time. I can't wait there all morning for them to open late! So I had to leave the keys in a drop box for the shared location's Budget Truck return. I continued my attempts to call them to make sure I wouldn't be charged for leaving it when no one was there. My call was answered for the first time, but the Avis representative immediately put me on hold for nearly 10 minutes without returning. I've yet to see if they do apply an additional fee, but needless to say I am beyond dissatisfied with this experience. I will never rent with Avis again.
I am a preferred avis customer and this location has a big problem with car availability....in other words the owner does not care about taking peoples money and wasting peoples time! Someone bought a small run down dirty building and put a Avis sign in the front and called it a buisness. Dont trust these low class people with your card information.This place is a scam people. They will make sure they squeeze as much money as they can out of you when its time to drop off your vehicle, Staff is very ratchet and unprofessional. This place needs to be flagged and reported.
This rating is an average of two scores: a 5 for the customer service at the location and a 1 for the vehicle, the delays, the lack of communication by the fleet team, and the poor planning for a holiday weekend. The backstory: did a prepaid reservation almost a month in advance for a specific type of vehicle needed for a trip out of state. No issues there, got a call a couple weeks in advance confirming the reservation and the vehicle type. Fast forward to the day of rental: arrived a bit late due to traffic being its usual mess on a Friday afternoon. Find out that no cars are available to rent on the lot. Rep starts making more phone calls apparently had been calling for fleet updates for a while already and gets no answers. Then proceeds to check all the local sister stores, turns out they don't have any cars from fleet either. A busy holiday weekend and the company seems completely unprepared for the reservations they've already received. Rep proceeds to tear up phone lines over the next couple of hours trying to find locations of cars and when they will arrive. Three hours later, a couple of vehicles show up delivered by fleet drivers. Neither are the kind I requested, but 15 minutes before the location is about to close means no other choice. Don't even get a discount because of company policies. Plus the car is dirty, smells like stale coffee, and does not have a full gas tank. So, a thank you to the determined representative who would not rest until she found a car somewhere, and a big no thank you to the company who I will never use for rentals again.
