This is a quaint, iconic restaurant in Gardena. I've been coming here for years for traditional Japanese comfort food. For the price, you get an incredible amount of delicious food. The service is quick and attentive and the space is "cozy". I highly recommend Azuma. (Be prepared to wait for a table during peak hours.)

I got the sashimi salad and my mom got the salmon skin salad. Both salads were DRENCHED in sauce; there was probably about 1 cup of leftover dressing that soaked the lettuce and the fish. If I got the dressing on the side I would have given this a 4 star review, but because there was way too much dressing it was hard to enjoy the salad.

It’s pretty compact with barely enough space to get through the tables, so be ready to get intimate with other customers ;) I got chicken katsu don and it was drier and rather bland that what I’m used to. But I wouldn’t complain because it was so reasonably priced and huge, and the staff were super friendly.

They should of never change management. I use to love going to Azuma until tonight.Food is still good but the service is sooooo slow and it was not even busy. I will go back a give them another chance.I'm just disappointed with dinner tonight.
