Banfield Pet Hospital

My dog was dropped off at 8am for x rays that take 10 minutes because he had something stuck in his stomach which needs surgery. My dog hasn’t ate or drank was shaky and losing weight. He is also about to turn two years old in May. We call the front desk at 10:30 and ask for an update. They said that his x rays were taken and the doctor will call us. Let me remind you my dog is in a bad condition. At 12:34 we called Banfield again and the lady couldn’t get in touch with someone to see how my dog was doing then their phone started breaking up and the lady just said well I’ll just have the doctor call you back later and give you an update because my phone is breaking up and hung up. The service is rude most of the time and they are money hungry. Yes they do act like they are sweet to the dogs and have never hurt or pulled on my dog but I️ feel like this vet is a load of bs. The wellness plan does not cover much. Every time we ask something they say oh it’s not covered on the plan. My dog has never been anywhere without my mom, boyfriend, or me so we are trying to get updates ASAP so we can pick him up, plus my dog may need surgery. They kept saying how serious his condition is. I️ never do reviews but I️ had to give a little info on my experience because I️ am beyond dissatisfied.

I HIGHLY don't recommend bringing your pets here. I've brought my puppy here a few times for his checkups and vaccinations and it seems like every visit gets worse and worse. The staff here are just there to get you in and out. They don't care about about your pet whatsoever. The lady at the front desk is sooo rude and unprofessional. Her name is Liz I believe. One time one of the workers dragged my dog with the leash.. I knew better to come back. I recently just canceled my Wellness Plan and will no longer bring my puppy here. You save a bit of money for signing up with the wellness plan but it totally isn’t worth it... Their customer service is straight poo P.s. if you’re looking for a good vet. I recommend Lafayette Veterinary Care Center

Got my dog microchipped there. Extremely friendly staff and very fast will be going back and making this my vet.

Have had my dog on the Banfield wellness plan at the Lafayette location for 8 years. In the last year and a half, since Dr. Montgomery left, the decline in patient care and customer service has been drastic. No one will answer the phone during business hours. No one checks the voicemail that is supposed monitored hourly (I have never once had a call returned after leaving a voicemail, you have to strike it lucky and catch a live human on the phone). Critical medication that was on order for my pet was 3 weeks late arriving, no one bothered to call and let me know. I ended up ordering the meds online. In the last 3 months, I've had to take my dog in twice for bloodwork to monitor rapidly rising ALT and ALKP levels, both times i was told I'd get a call back to discuss the results in 24-48 hours. Both times it was over a week before I heard from the doctor, and only because I had to call constantly and guilt Dr. Sarradet into calling me back. The excuse is always the same "emergency situations" and "crazy day," but what it comes down to is just simply do what you say you'll do. If I should expect results in a week, say so. Meanwhile I'm worrying about my dog's health and stuck in limbo waiting. It seems apparent to me that this location is understaffed, or else simply mismanaged. When my dog has received care, it's been good, but unfortunately you have to relentlessly advocate for your pet to receive it in the first place, and then you have to fight for follow-up.
