Our friends took us to Baroncini's to celebrate closing on a new house. The food was excellent and filled with a variety of herbs and spices that made it "pop" with flavor. A week later we went back to celebrate our anniversary because we wanted to try other items on the menu we had to pass-up the week before. We were not disappointed. Size-wise this is one of the smaller restaurants in Iowa City, reminiscent of big city and European restaurants. Cozy and not overly loud, a wonderful experience.

Lunch special is fun. For $10 you get an adequate amount of food but it’s mostly salad and bread. Also our food took a while and by the time it came out the noodles were lukewarm or even cold in some places. Also some orders have way more food on them then others. If you wanna fill up get the spaghetti and meatballs (though you might feel a bit basic). If you’re on a diet the lobster ravioli will do just fine.

While it took several minutes(10+) to get a server to the table... the food was amazing and more than made up for the rough start. A cozy place to enjoy a great meal and look forward to return visits to celebrate additional special occasions.

We went for the lunch special of $10. Great food. Loved the warm bread. You can chose between the soup and the salad. The salad was fresh. The we were advised by the server to not order the soup as it was a bit old.

Amazing Flavors! Small to medium plate sizes. It is a very cozy place. They are frequently booked until 9 or 930pm. Call a day or two ahead for reservations if you don't plan on eating late.
