Enjoy their burger baskets. They have good basic bar food plus large beers. Prices are reasonable and they have good fries. I also like that with their burger baskets you can get fruit as a side. They are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Iowa City on Washington Street. This is also a good place to watch Hawkeye sports!

Went to Bo James on Sunday with my wife. . When we got our appetizer. It was over cook. The fries were rock hard. A table next to us had a guy who appeared to be a wait staffs boyfriend, who was gossiping about to workers the whole time. When we received our meal, the fries again were over cooked, the hamburger was also over cooked.

Ordered a steak sandwich (medium) and some mashed potatoes. The steak was unevenly cooked, somehow the middle of the steak was almost rare and the outer part was well done, and it was sweet, I think they might have cooked it with teriyaki or something, it definitely needed steak sauce to mask the flavor. The serving of mashed potatoes was very small and didn't have butter or gravy. Wouldn't recommend.

Very friendly atmosphere. We stopped here after a football game (as fans of the visiting team) and felt very welcome. Everyone was having a good time and the burgers are great.
