I would exercise extreme caution when renting from this company. Make sure you see the rental on site and check that it has been properly maintained. I was anticipating some cosmetic issues but not the litany of other problems we had during the two years we lived there. From the very beginning, we had utility problems including a dangerous electrical situation, bug problems, and clearly nothing had been done in years properly care for the property paint chipping, every window screen had holes, holes in the walls, etc. It was horrendous. I put so much of my own money and sweat into trying to make it better including replacing the shower head when it broke. Normally I would contact the management company about this, but when I'd contacted them about the broken toilet seat they charged me $100 to replace it so I tried to DIY whatever I could to save on ridiculous costs. The rent was cheap for the neighborhood which should have been a red flag; I feel like I lost every ounce of dignity as a renter while living here. Also, GOOD LUCK if you have an emergency over the weekend. It's one thing to have policies in place, but it's another thing to not acknowledge that people are human. When we got locked out of our apartment, it was hard to reach someone and when we did there was no care for our situation and we were SOL. Last but not least, it became pretty annoying when our property manager kept pushing for us to rate them 5 stars on Google every time they responded to a complaint. I don't think they realized just how much of a pain it was living there, and I would have happily gave them 5 stars if they pushed for anything to be fixed or replaced within a timely manner, or at least showed an ounce of sympathy. Bay Management: People LIVE in these properties and deserve a decent and safe home. We were excellent tenants--super clean, always paid rent on time--but I feel like we were treated more like ticket numbers than humans.
My experience with Ms.Jennifer Luna of Laurel MD branch was wonderful. She was always prompt and so considerate all through my time of stay as my property manager. I have never met a property manager so considerate, excellently prompt, apologizes for not responding immediately and calls back as promised also putting herself in the shoes of her client to see way forward. Ms. Jennifer you are excellent in what you do taking ownership of the business with good listening spirit. Thank you once again.
Ian is a great property manager. He keeps up to date with my account, making sure my rent is paid and that I am aware of any repairs that need to be made. I am very happy to be a client of Bay Management Group.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Leah C as my property manager, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the very beginning, Leah demonstrated professionalism, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Leah was always available to answer any questions I had and was incredibly efficient in addressing any concerns that arose.
I must say I do enjoy Hillsdale manor. However I do not enjoy management. I’ve put in my notice on time yet my maintenance requests have been ignored since. I’ve emailed the property owner countless times and they assured me that my blinds would be replace. Yet they have not. I put in a request about my floors and those have not been fixed either. Both issues have been communicated for over a month. Also, for the year that I have been here one washing machine has been broken countless times unable to drain water and leaks out. I’ve contacted management and they told me to contact the company who supplies the machines laughable. So I did. And guess what the company said, “contact management”. The they had a note stating that if you make a referral you get a $100 dollar credit added to your portal. I referred my friend and they said the friend had to confirm which she did. Then they said my name had to be written on the application but that wasn’t said on the flyer. I will say maintenance has been great the entire year minus the 2 requests I put in after I gave my 3 month notice. I’m sure they will try to deduct it from my security deposit return. They do anything to try and remove responsibility. The grounds are clean. The space is great. The property management brings it down. Once that notice is given they do not care.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Desiree from Bay Property Management Group and couldn't be more impressed with her professionalism and dedication. After reaching out through Zillow, Desiree immediately contacted me with information about an upcoming open house and sent me videos about the house. During the tour, she made me feel completely at ease. She is incredibly friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions confidently and thoroughly, without any need for further clarification. She also explained the entire rental process clearly, outlining the next steps in a way that made everything seem straightforward. Having been on multiple tours with other agents recently, I can honestly say that Desiree stands out as the best. If I could, I would give her more than 5 stars. Highly recommended!
My Journey as a Property Manager: A Tale of Betrayal First and foremost, I want to share my rollercoaster ride with BMG as a property manager. Perhaps you recognize me from the handful of glowing reviews that still linger out there. It all began in a cozy Virginia office, where I donned the property manager hat for a promising three months. Life was good—until fate shuffled the deck and dealt me a transfer to the Philadelphia office. That’s when the ominous clouds gathered on my professional horizon. Fast-forward to my tenure of over a year: I was riding high, accumulating five-star reviews. Property owners sang my praises, and I even managed to secure a raise based on those glowing testimonials. The sun was shining—until it wasn’t. The turning point? My well-deserved vacation. I’d earned it, and my direct boss, Dana Anderson, gave the green light with an email that cheerfully read, “Have fun!” Little did I know that this seemingly innocuous message would lead to my downfall. Just days before my escape to paradise, a Wednesday to be precise, an accidental email landed in my inbox. It spilled the beans: termination was imminent—one day before my precious PTO. They wanted to dodge paying what I was rightfully owed. Cue the panic. I scrambled to inquire, but my access was swiftly restricted. Silence followed my desperate emails sent from my personal account. Deep down, I sensed the axe swinging, even if they wouldn’t admit it outright. And then it happened—the dreaded termination. Their excuse? “You were taking vacations longer than seven days, and some employees never return after time off.” So, there I stood, jobless, unpaid, and labeled the weakest link—all because I dared to take a break. In a last-ditch effort, I reached out to the COO, Tony Cook the lofty position just shy of the CEO. I threw everything at him: screenshots, emails, conversations—the works. But the response echoed the same heartless tune: “We can’t control your expenses.” Imagine that—a slap in the face. They fired me under false pretenses, knowing they’d approved my vacation and wished me well. The hypocrisy stung. And now, as they sip their lattes in their ivory towers, I hope karma knocks on their plush office doors. But here’s the twist: If they treat their core—the property managers—this way, what fate awaits the rest of their empire? I wouldn’t recommend Bay Property Management under any circumstances. Remember, karma has a long memory.
BMG has managed my property for almost 7 years now. Mariana Gutierrez has been my property manager for the last 2 years. She is one of the best I have worked with at BMG, there were 8 before her in the prior 5 years. She takes care of coordinating everything between tenants and contractors/vendors when anything needs to be fixed or replaced. Communication is done via emails and I get responses within 24-48 hours. On the rare occasion that I need to talk with her on the phone because email communication isn't sufficient, I so far have had to leave voicemails and get a call back after 24 hours. I feel this is one area that could use a faster response time.
Good Afternoon, I was advised by my landlord that his property would be taken over by Bay Property Management July, 2023. My property manager is Marianna Gutierrez, who goes up and above the call of duty. Whenever I have a complaint or a problem that needs to be repaired, I will place a message into the tenant portal or either send her a message. She has been extremely good at getting back to me in a reasonable amount of time. And after each encounter, she always ask if there is something else she can do for me. She has been a God-send, and appreciate the time and care she has shown me, and I am sure she shows to her other clients as well. Thank you Marianne for your hard work, your patience, and the time and care that you show to your clients. I appreciate you, thank you, Tialynn Cameron
I have had a positive experience with Bay Property Management so far. This is mainly because of the excellent support from my property manager, Cristina Castillo. Since I moved in, Cristina has been very professional, dependable, friendly, and always accessible. I value Cristina’s quick and skilled way of handling my questions or concerns over the past few years. For instance, the few times I required maintenance repair in my unit, Cristina was very helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. Additionally, the vendors used by the company for maintenance repairs have always been very professional. Overall, I am very happy and thankful for the services that Cristina and BPM offer!
