Got there at 4:35, due to the traffic, & long drive from HHI... They say they dont close until 5pm. Well, i was taking someone there that had just had a baby, & had been trying to apply for food stamps online, & then do a phone interview, was thebbest thing for her, since she doesnt drive, & they dont have ANY satellite offices so you dont have to travel close to an hr, to take care of things, or drop off info they need from you AFTER, they've done ur phone interview! Ughhhhh! Whats the point... anyway, after 2 different times of waiting on hold, for close to 2 hrs, she asked if i would bring her to Beaufort to do her interview, so she can start getting her much needed help! Well, like i said i got her there at @4:30pm.. which was the only time i can bring her, & it should have been no problem since they r "open" til 5pm. Well, after all the phone call waiting, & traffic dodging for an hr. They told her that none of the case workers would see her that late for her interview! 😒 Really? And, mind you.... She had already completed all her info online, so they didnt need to start from scratch, basically they just had to look her info over & ask a few questions about her application! BUT, noone would see her that late..... AND.. the icing is, her case was going to be closed the next day! So, shes got to start the whole application process again, & then hope she can get through on the phone, cause no tellin when she will be able to get to beaufort before 3pm! My gripe is... If your open, & getting paid until 5pm... Then help folks until then, but if at 4:30pm, you consider your day over, & dont want to do anything else...You should at least have it be known online, or on the phone recording, that u need to be there b4 a certain time if u are doing a FS interview or what not! OR Just tell the truth to the taxpayers that pay ur salary, that you get paid to work til 5pm. But u stop working at 430pm!

I gave them a closure letter from the atate I was formerly living in, the lady made a copy, kept the original, and gave me the copy... To which I folded up with my application and put in their table drop box. Fast forward about a week and I get the letter for my interview, in which time I find out that they dont have my closure letter on file. Both of them seems to have vanished. I spoke to the EBT manager who talked over me and was condescending. I tried to reach medicaids manager, in which case... No answer. Twice. The employees acted extremely self-righteous, and like I had NO reason to ve angry or upset because they decided not to do their jobs. I now only have 5 days to get ANOTHER closure letter before I have to restart this entire process over again, both in which can take up to and some times over a month. Extremely unprofessional, condescending, and lazy employees. Guess I'll have to find out who is above all of theirs heads. The saddest part, the lady in the front was too lazy to just scan it in while it was in her hands... The office only had 2 other people in it and they were waiting for DSS.

The attitudes of the alcohol and drug place are horrible no respect for the people coming there for help! I would recommend going somewhere else not in Beaufort

Very impersonal treatment was given when seeking assistance for elderly mother. Act as if you are bothering them or keeping them from doing something more important.
